Being able to limit this to certain security groups would be amazing. We don't want everyone to suddenly have PBI Desktop land, but want the benefits of not needing to package it constantly :D

I think this will encourage more users to familiarise themselves with PBI as they see it as a part of Office 365, including my management to look at PBI file instead of me generating PDF for them

Nice. Less ticket from me to IT. I'm always delay on the update on my PBI desktop as I need to always raise with IT for the update.

Thanks, but would you know how the licensing would be addressed. Office apps require subscription and activation before use, unlike Power bi desktop that can be installed and used free.

Thank you for such videos❤. Although I have some different scenario, I have YYYYMM slicer on my report page with multiple years of data.And data is loading on monthly basis. Currently I have saved YYYYMM slicer with recent 12 months selected but client is expecting if new month data gets loaded again recent 12 months should be automatically updated. Any input on this please. Sorry for going out of current context but this is important.

Still want to understand issues around updates. Can Power BI Desktop now automatically update as part of office updates? Will it get the Power BI monthly updates?

I presume that having powerbi desktop or installed will not automatically change what they have access to data wise. So I don't see a security concern. It should help people get off excel though

Well, for us, It will be off. We use RS-PBI and maybe it wont be an option...😔
