It's sad to say you will never see great martial arts movies like this from Hong Kong and China anymore since the autocratic Xi Jinping took over in 2013. The former Chinese leaders in the 1990s and 2000s let Chinese cinema flourish by telling bold and exciting stories with fantastic stunt work and cinematography. Even producing colourful IMAX and 3D adventure movies. But from Jinping took over now there is propaganda and darkness over Chinese cinema.

If you were ever wondering where Ang Lee got the technical parts of "Crouching Tiger", Yuen Clan had been developing that style for over a decade, before Woo-Ping did Matrix. Although "Crouching Tiger", like "House of Flying Daggers", is an homage to King Hu, those films wouldn't have been possible without Master Yuen's advancement of the choreographic art in cinema over decades.
