The microaggressions and aggressions that come with everyday activities when you aren’t white are countless, and one of them is shopping. For example, a woman named Trinity Bethune bought her first car and the dealership posted it on their Facebook and called her “Bon Quisha”. Journalist Mara Schiavocampo breaks down the microaggression and how people can be better allies.

Zerlina.: Incisive and timely coverage of politics and current events, through in-depth conversations that unpack the latest developments in this era's breakneck news cycle and draw back the curtain on their real-world consequences.

Watch it on The Choice channel on Peacock TV, weeknights, 6 p.m. ET.

So why are they hiding the person that posted this awful ad, why keep his identity hidden, so he can go and get another job, and pull the same stunt again?

I have a bad habit of always smiling when I'm face to face with people, even at my lowest point (mentally or physically), I really hate that about myself!! The lockdown was excellent for my anxiety & mental health.

Oddly enough my ex-husband and I were followed by security everywhere in multiple shops, including one that insisted upon standing behind me in line to the checkout and move up the line with me, right after we both shaved our heads in support of a friend with cancer. I understand how difficult that is to deal with.

If I was a black person in the USA, I would be terrified most of the time.

Or how about when you are out at lunch with all white coworkers at a circular table, and the waitress begins taking orders right next to you so you can be served last. Should I go on?

Wow. I was just talking about this to my therapist. The grocery store, the pharmacy. A trip to Little Island as a single trans woman of color. Being followed, subpar services, etc.
"If it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger." YES. It takes so much strength and fortitude to wipe the slate clean several times a day. Thank you Zerlina and guest.

The thing about micro-aggressive behaviour is that those who perpetrate it, can rely on the ready-made defenders within the community against which the behavior is directed. Those ignoramuses defend the odious acts of micro-aggression because its subtlety evades their cognitive ability.

Is firing the employee necessarily the best way this could have been handled as in a way it kind of lets off the hook both the employee and the dealership. Here is what I would consider to be a more equitable settlement for the incident. The dealership should take back the Camry and upgrade her to something like a Crown or Sequoia at no charge (with complementary gas for at least a year) to show that they are actually really upset at the mistake that was made on their behalf. As to the employee, the dealership should continue to pay their salary, and the employee should be made to be the chauffeur for Trinity for a year. This makes the offending employee have to interact with the person that they offended so they actually get to know and interact with a black person which is something that they likely do not do on a regular basis, and that is why they have developed this attitude towards black people. It would put them in a position to serve the very person they offended and get to know them to reduce their racial prejudice. Reducing and eliminating racial bias and prejudice takes interaction of all people.

strong women survive! hats off to the vs woman under assault by that white heifer, but if you aggressively enter some black ladies’ space, you could and should live to regret it dearly!

I could understand that due to america's history. Its still hard for some people to live together in peace. But as for me i respect you and your culture. And i think thats because i am not from usa.
Basically i think you're cool. Media helped me a lot. Movies and music doesn't matter old ones or a new ones taught me about black people's life difficulties. And i can't treat you nothing but with respect. The way you treat your brothers and sisters reminds me how we shold treat each other. And everytime i get emotional.
