Wow... Thank you WD for a quick, to the point instructional video. I followed the video step by step, pausing along the way, and wallah I have my cloud set up! To all the commenters below me - did you read that? You can pause the video!!! That's the beauty of it. Clearly there is a separate issue with perhaps your home network.

Great video. It really helped me when I set up my first MyCloud drive SIX years ago, from my Mac. That drive has gone bad and I just bought a new MyCloud since we loved the old one.


NONE OF THIS VIDEO TELLS ME ANYTHING ABOUT HOW TO SET UP THE NEW UNIT. FROM A MAC WITH THE VERY DIFFERENT SETUP SOFTWARE. (YES, I AM YELLING.)


THE INSTRUCTIONS WITH THE LATEST SOFTWARE TELLS ME TO GO TO FEATURE - such as accessing the three bars at the top left - THAT DO NOT EXIST IN THE MAC VERSION OF THE SOFTWARE.

I see this video was created more than 6 years ago. Is there an updated video which shows the Mac installation process with Catalina and Big Sur?  

Secondly, with this setup process work with the Mycloud EX2?

have a issue trying to connected the to the dash board wth the drive and the drive does not connect and all I want to do if back up my movies and music and tv shows on the drive and stream them from there to plex media server

Would it show up in 3rd party software? Say I want to put media assets on there and stream them when I am creating things in audio or video production software, would I be able to access the location effortlessly, as if it was a local disk?

The WD learning centre does not exist. What apps or drivers do I need to install to actually use this on a mac? So far all I can have is a heavy and expensive paperweight with 3 blue lights on it!

I'm getting slow speeds (around 10MB/s) when moving files into the drive. Is it because of my Frontier/Verizon Fios router or my 2010 Macbook Pro? Is there a way to pinpoint the reason?

Hi, I just bought a WD My cloud, but I can't seem to find an answer to this question:
My local hard drive is almost full. I want to move all my files the My Cloud drive to free up some space. Is it possible to do that without them being on my local iMac Hard Disk?

During the connect phase, the setup software tells me "No WD My Cloud Found". The light is blue, power and ethernet are properly connected and still it can not find the device. They are connected on the same network. I am doing this on a Mac. Any help?

OK, haven't used WD My Cloud Drive in a while I have data on the drive and I have plug it into a router switch. In the WD setup it states to wait tell the light turns blue well all I see is a amber light and it

does not stay on. Does it matter that it is plugged into a switch and the switch is plugged into the router? Is my drive faulty when all I see is an amber light? I cannot set it up. When I run Belarc Advisor it finds WD My Cloud drive and it's address and its s/n. But I don't see it on the PC or the iMac. Do you have any help for me?
