Hi I had polio when I was 4 months and I am 67 now living in San Francisco, CA. The one that I didn't understand, why in 1955, I was contracted, and I am the youngest of 3 siblings, and they are fine. Also we lived in an island in the Philippines, that my family never go to the big island. There were only 3 cases I know in the island, and each one of us are far from each other.

Are the statistics of how the virus affects people based on vaccinated populations or unvaccinated? For example roughly 80% asymptomatic 19% flu like and 1 % severe.

:13 tell that to the thousands of kids that lost the ability to walk for the rest of their lives. That guy has no clue what he is talking about. I have seen videos of Polio in the 50s scaring people half to death because they hoped their kids didn't get it.
