Lyrics

Overhead, are those angels or vultures? Heavy wings and the hum of decay—they seethe and hover—skew and smother the light of day. Every word is dissonant whisper —they’ve got you wearing a smile like a mask—and all you’re left with is every question you’re scared to ask. I will find you in the black light of that cold dry land. Never mind who held you last night—come and take my hand. Every tether is tangled and twisted— they slowly sever your heart from the whole. Iron shackles—hungry jackals with eyes like coal. Underfoot, as you steal past the gallows—brittle branches or pieces of bone? Feel your chest heave—are you ready to come back home?

Epitaph Records is an artist-first indie label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist, Brett Gurewitz. Early releases from a variety of punk heavyweights helped launch the 90s punk explosion. Along the way, Epitaph has grown and evolved creatively while sticking to its mission of helping real artists make great recordings on their own terms.

How does this band keep getting better. It makes no sense. 22 years I've been listening to these guys, and they are ever changing yet always have that core soul in their sound.

Lyrics
Overhead, are those angels or vultures?
Heavy wings and the hum of decay
They seethe and hover
Skew and smother the light of day, oh
Every word is a dissonant whisper
They've got you wearing a smile like a mask
And all you're left with
Is every question you're scared to ask, oh
I will find you in the black light
Of that cold, dry land
Nevermind who held you last night
Come and take my, come and take my hand
Every tether is tangled and twisted
Thеy slowly sever your heart from thе whole
Iron shackles
Hungry jackals with eyes like coal, oh
Underfoot as you steal past the gallows
Brittle branches or pieces of bone?
Feel your chest heave
Are you ready to come back home? oh
I will find you in the black light
Of that cold, dry land
Nevermind who held you last night
Come and take my, come and take my hand
I will find you in the black light
Of that cold, dry land
Nevermind who held you last night
Come and take my, come and take my hand
I will find you in the black light
Of that cold, dry land
Nevermind who held you last night
Come and take my, come and take my hand
I will find you in the black light
Of that cold, dry land
Nevermind who held you last night
Come and take my hand, come and take my hand

Dustin's voice just keeps getting better. It is somehow pure and gravelly. It is really hard to describe.

That bass. Holy mother of goosebumps. Main reason why I love this band so much. Nothing even comes close.

That drum and bass groove... I can't stop listening to it. My favorite band of all time. No one even comes close.

Can't believe I missed this release. My husband introduced me to Thrice when we were early teens as a way to bond as friends...and Anthology ended up our first dance song at our wedding. This song is beautiful and also all around a jam. So happy Thrice still graces us with their presence today.

I’ve legit listened to this song 30 plus times already since first hearing it two days ago. The guitar hook/bridge is so amazing and thrice just has this ethereal quality. I LOVE THEM

Thrice is one of those bands that has a distinct sound even if the genre changes. The songs may be totally different album to album, but there’s a sound underneath it all that is very distinct. It’s more of an abstract. But if you listen closely, you can hear a song of theirs from 2001 and 2021 and hear similar things even if the gear, tones, and songs change. It’s in the band’s DNA.

I’ve been listening Thrice since I was 17, I’m 30 now and this band just gets better and better with every new album.

Anyone else here simultaneously breathe a sigh of joy and equally get amped AF whenever Thrice comes out with new material?

So many parallels between Thrice and Manchester Orchestra's path and musical evolution. Just happy to be here to witness the incredible journey. Both incredible and I hope they both continue to make music for an extremely long time.
