Here's what I did for compost this year.
Made a ring 4 foot tall by 5 foot across out of old goat fencing and added ground cloth to keep everything in.
Mainly used goat and rabbit poop, old hay, wood chips and tossed in some worms.
As a test I planted tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, chard and peppers to see how they would grow. To push the test even farther it only receives 3 hours of sunlight per day.
Results: largest return of cucumber, chard and tomatoes I've ever had in 40 years of gardening.
I didn't expect the peppers or okra to do well due to lack of direct sunlight.
Am about to make 10 more rings by the end of the year. My back isn't the best and having everything high off the ground helps.

Oh, i allowed the cucumbers to run up a tree branch, it was awesome.
