Thank you for this very informative video!
I'm wanting to buy my first skid steer mainly for Excavating a basement under an existing house . I thought you touched on a lot of very interesting points that sure seemed valid, and most of which I hadn't even considered due to my lack of experience.
I appreciate you taking the time to share this information!
The wind noise wasn't even noticeable to me.

I had gone into this video thinking that the tracked machines were better.
My view now after watching your video is they're only better for certain tasks
In the same way that a square Point Spade is "better"than a pointed shovel- only depending upon the task at hand. Thank you for the insight!

Good comparison. Poor people like me who only use a machine occasionally compromise by having two sets of tires. Standard and wide or "super floats" That helps my little Bob 763 to go almost anywhere.

Excellent video. I'd like to add in to the mix: Tires are good for plowing asphalt, but TERRIBLE at icy inclines. I went with option #3 which is the tires with steel OTT tracks for winter/inclines. You get the speed of tires, but the grip of steel tracks. That said, the steel tracks cannot be used on asphalt or concrete, as they WILL mark up the surface pretty bad. I think what EVERYONE needs is one of each. :)

How well will tire skid hold up off road clearing Forrest trails?

Assuming I avoid mud conditions, I’m still worried it will get stuck in mud etc. I would just go with tracks but looking for something to clear snow around my property as well. As I said I have lots of woods I’m looking to clear for ATV trails. Great video though

Owned 2023 jcb 270t for 1 month. Cab vibration is unbelievable. Gives you a headache. Hydraulic system is garbage, multiple leaks, very weak and slow compared to other brands, de tracks very easily. Tracks have to very tight at all times. Visibility to bucket is terrible for grading . Glad I kept my bobcat machines. My t66 has just as good visibility with clear view sides. 5 link suspension undercarriage is unbelievably smooth. I can twice the work in the same amount of time with t66 I enjoy your videos but I will never purchase another jcb skid again. Been in business for 29 years and definitely care about reliability and resale. Sold the 270 and have a kubota svl75-3 on order. Great video as always.

Great comparison between the two, real examples to help people learn advantages / disadvantages of each.

Hello. How reliable has your JCB equipment been. There are so many whiner videos putting them down. Thankyou.

One thing you forgot was the tire machine is cheaper to maintain vs the tracks, idlers and sprockets.

Are you doing demo or not? Tires will
Get much more life when running over crushed/broken concrete. Tracked skid steers will be trashed in a week and rubber tracks are expensive

is there much of diifference regarding fuel consumption ?

Don't forget how much of a pain it is when a track comes off. Especially when it comes off on the inside😂

I use a JCB 190 with wheels and it is absolutely useless in rock. Just spins out, leaves ruts and damn near gets stuck. I would think tracks would be far more effective for rock but then again Im a pretty novice skid steer operator.
