When I was 9 years old my parents divorced and my sisters moved to another country.. I was so afraid confused and alone, I used to fall asleep to this music dreaming of a better world of heroic discovery and bravery..

Once upon a time, I heard this song on a tape my parents had in the family cassette player. Heard it once or twice when I was 8 or 9 and loved it, but never knew its name. Then we moved and no one played it on the radio or on TV anymore, so I was unable to enjoy it by listening to it, but only by humming it to myself. I've had this song in my head for a quarter of a century without knowing its name, until today. Shivers down my spine, ladies and gentlemen, shivers down my spine.

One of the best Greek composers and a patriot too, he was born in my city In Hellas but some are ignorant sadly. I knew of him but today I got introduced to more of his works and fell in love with this piece, it spoke to my heart. Athanatos (eternal) Vangelis Papathanasiou.

It was one of my dad's favorite songs. Often, while cooking or lying down, he would fire up this and other songs by Vangelis, Ennio Morricone or classics from the 80s like Bad Boys Blue and just enjoyed the moment. Unfortunately, he died of cancer last year. However, his brilliant taste in music, which he infected me with, is still here.
