Russian VS Serbian languages: can we understand each other?

There are three groups of Slavic languages :
West Slavic (Czech, Polish, Slovak)
East Slavic (Russian, Belarusian, Ukrainian)
South Slavic (Slovenian, Serbian, Macedonian, Bulgarian, Croatian)

In Serbian it is both gordost and ponos for pride. For example, book by Jane Austen 'Pride and Prejudice' is translated into Serbian as 'Gordost i predrasude', so both words are used. Gordost is little bit more archaic, though.

My 2 best friends in High School (90's) were Serb Brothers from Belgrade. They lived with my family in 🇺🇲 during the Bosnian War. They taught me all the Serbian Curse Words and introduced me to Rakija.

Im greek from Kastoria city in North Greece, the city of fur manufacturers which russian people was visiting all the year to buy fur coats. So i decided to study russian to get a good job as a fur seller. So i did ! i took russian lessons for 2years. After sometime i moved at Halkidiki Greece and i was working at a resort with some serbian guys. I was talking them in russian and they could understand very well. Even Serbian clients could understand as well 😊
