"Changing Gender Roles" presents the history of changing roles of men and women at work.

1- What I learned from the video, is that gender roles have adapted to the situation that is present at the time. Because, before men and women worked on farms and at home, then when the industrial revolution occurred there was a change in perspective of things. The man was separated from his house to work in the big industries, the woman stayed at home with the children and this was seen as normal. But in the 20th century, some 200 years after the industrial revolution when men went to fight in the first and Second World War, women started working in factories, offices and stores. Thus being new opportunities for them. Nowadays, it can be seen that men and women work in different areas that were previously considered to be of a single gender, for example there are men nurses, secretaries and professors. On the other hand, there are women police officers, doctors and presidents. However, there are people who oppose these changes and there are still stereotypes. But I am sure that just as we have managed to adapt and change in all these years, we will do so in a future where the professions aren`t by gender but are all equally and paid equally to both genders.

1. I learned that long time ago men and women do the similar activities at home and at work and also how it changed over time when the men used to work and women used to stayed at home with the children.
2. How the women got more job opportunities after the World War I and II, in order to have the same jobs opportunities like the men had in that time.

I learned many things about this, one of them could be that you can do what you want it doesnt really matter if it is a women or men's jobs, what you feel that's what you have to do, what you feel passion for, what you want to become, do it. Everything is subject to change all over again.

Something that was surprised for me: I didnt know that a few years ago or even nowadays we have been saying that there are women jobs and men jobs, I understand that there are jobs for men that probably women can not do because they require a big effort which women could not do, and the same way around talking about men but like I said, we have to do what we want to, what make us happy.

Nowadays many people believe the women are very representative in the society because we have been a important part to improve all activities that the women trying to work. For me the most item that I learned about the gender roles is that with the time all people have been change their minds about the work only to a women or to a men and now all people can work in wherever place and doing whatever thing. In conclusion, something is true that although women and men currently work in the same jobs, salaries are often not equitable.

Many years ago women and man just had defined what were their position, women in home and men working but throught the years and with the many changes which occurred around the world, that changed, women started to work like men did and men work like woman did, it was a big change, nowadays in the society the women have an important possition and it is known that women are prepared to work in whatever job they want, in addition women and men just work in the job that they want in despite of, that job seem to be for a gir or man that is the past; it´s amazing how the new generation are changing the way the old people think about the role which have to have the women, and it´s also great how men don´t care to do things that are supoose to be done just for women.

1. What new things did you learn about gender roles?
what I learned from the video and something very interesting was how the gender roles of women and men were similar and practical for both before the industrial revolution, but then they were changing so the men dedicated themselves to work more in the factories while the women stayed at home with their children. This fact that the industrial revolution and the Second World War generated a disjunction between the work of women and men, putting women in a lower position than that of men, as a result of this we can see an inequality in our rights . although now in the actulidad there are many opportunities for the woman still that macho idea prevails.

1. What new things did you learn about gender roles?
From the video I learned how gender roles have changed over time and how the industrial revolution and the first and second world wars helped make these changes happen. Overall, before watching the video I didn’t know the history of how before the industrial revolution the gender roles were very simple and similar and everything changed when workers were needed in the new factories, so, men started leaving their homes to go to work and It became common for the woman to stay at home with the children. Also, when men left for war, women began to work and continued working after it was over.

the role of gender has changed over time, the role of women has come to occupy importance in society for example in years ago women couldn’t exercise to vote, only men exercised, today both genders can exercise.
Nowadays women and man can work same places and share different profession.

By centuries the role of the women and men apparencily was defined, but the nowadays the constant change the world had produced new forms of life for such genres, today many activities that before only had making men, now the women carry the lider.
This changes are good while conserve the value the both generes and beetwen they exist and relation of cooperation for develop of the sosiety and main center the family.
Women and men have the same capabilities for develop any work; the activities haven't defanied exclusive for one only genre, if exist more support beetwen they, the families will better.

2. What information did you find the most interesting or surprising?
For me, the whole video was interesting because it shows the reality in our lives, for example, last year a friend lost her job just because she was pregnant, also sometimes people ask me, why do you play rugby if that is a men´s sport? or why don´t you want to have children?, so that makes me think people should start worring about their lives and let everyone decide what they like and what they don´t like.
In conclusion, is a good idea for society to change roles, because that way, we can leave stereotypes aside and women and men can do what we like.

2. What information did you find the most interesting or surprising?
The information most surprising for me was that there are many people who reject this change in gender roles and also, I consider it is unfair that despite the advances that society has had since the industrial revolution many women who performed the same job as men are paid less just for being women, That shows that society has a lot to learn in terms of equality and values. The same case of intolerance is reflected in those people who don’t take seriously those men who are nurses, teachers or stylists just because they think that their profession makes them look feminine.

2. I found it really interesting how society make human believe that there are limits to everything, in this case, as nineteenth-century women used to do what men wanted or society said. After that in twenty-century, people began to think and not follow rules, to do what they really wanted to do, leading us to a revolution that would finally end that stereotype of women although there are still some with that thoughts.

In first place is incredible how in these days the people don´t accept the change in roles of men and women at work, despite of that change was granted in the past after of I and II World War.
In Second place is a new information for me, listen in this video that the first oportunity from woman for work in the industries was thanks to the World War because almost all the men had to go to war and the factories hadn´t without workers, so much that the women had to work.

I found it very interesting to understand and analyze how the roles have changed throughout society. in the video we talk about the industrial revolution which seems right to me because that's where society starts to evolve and start to see big changes.
You can see how the roles change from that moment on and women can do jobs that were previously seen only for men.
although I think that we still have to adapt to change because even people see these changes as really negative.

In this video we can find that the gender roles have changed over time, although not all agree, this change has been important for the development of human beings in the different jobs we do. Hello, everyone.
For me, de most important information about the video is how after of the 1st and 2nd World War the gender roles had more meaningful change. Was when the women start to work in the factory because the men were in the war. The women performed many activities than in that moment just did the men.
Currently, the men also do many activities that in the past only do by women like be teachers, nurses, hair stylist. Than shows that everyone we able to do all we propouse because we are capable.

2. What information did you find the most interesting or surprising?
Throughout history, women have been stigmatized by men, many people believed women were weak sex and they were incapable of doing tasks that were only for men. But when there was a need for women to do "men's tasks" it was evident that women have the same abilities as men to do strenuous work, and that women are so brave, intelligent and competent for any job or task.

Even, I would say with certainty that women are better than men, they are considered weak sex, but they endure the pains of childbirth to give life, they have a "sixth sense" that allows them to do things in a special way, women are a perfect combination between sweetness and character, between delicacy and strength, between beauty and authority.

New and interesting: when men went to world war 1 and 2 women start working in factories, offices and stores, but when the war ended the women keep going to work like nothing happened. This allows them to move forward and became doctors, business leaders and heads of states and not only that but also allows the men to change to "women work" like: nurses, teachers, secretaries and stay at home parent because they want to change too and women gave them that chance. Actions speak louder than words, an action broke a barrier, a broken barrier breaks more barries and then things keep going on for good.

2. What information did you find the most interesting or surprising?
I found many things interesting and surprising in this video about gender roles. First, I’m surprising that women and men shared the same activities on the farm. I believed that women had always been considered to "clean the house and take care of the children". This information seemed very interesting to me since it has been shown for some time that women and men can share the same roles.
Second, is interesting the fact that women were incorporated into the factory during the world wars, which was an important fact to cover the needs of these factories while the men were in the war and finally, I am surprised that many people still think that it is less feminine or less masculine to have a certain type of work that has been characterized for a gender, when both men and women can share roles without being discriminated against.
