Watch this before buying the iPad mini 7

I've been using the iPad mini 7 for a little while now. So in this video, I give you my thoughts on if this iPad is worth upgrading to. We dive into the spec bumps over the iPad mini 6 and figure out if there is a decent reason to upgrade.

Watching this on a mini 7 which was an upgrade from a mini 4. Whilst there is no excuse for not having an oled screen, I just thought of something. Remember the issues people had with the A17 pro chip being in the 15 pro body with regards to over heating? Apple may have tried to put an M chip in the mini and encountered the same issue. The A17 pro chip being may have been a better choice for heat dissipation and they may have left the M chips to work in the larger iPads for that very reason.

Thank you for the honest review. I like the Mini 7, but the dim display, poor battery life and lack of any innovation makes it a lazy upgrade. But the form factor is great.

So I picked up the mini 6 cause my 4 started to fail in early August. I couldn’t wait for the 7. Started feeling like I should’ve.

Biggest reason I upgraded to the iPad mini seven is the fact it will be three years until the next one comes out, plus I get a 10% military discount and they gave me 265 for my mini 6. I was disappointed they didn’t put the newest A chip in it.

Thanks, that was really eye-opening. (And depressing.) I was going to take the plunge updating my ancient iPad Mini 4 to a 7, but not sure there's enough here to warrant taking it over a discounted 6...

I expect Mini to be revamped with OLED after iPad Airs get that treatment first, so I think I'll begrudgingly buy one of those since iPad Mini portability and versatility... There's nothing quite like it. (thanks to Samsung sleeping on many trends nowadays)

What's more frustrating than Apple's lack of care is Samsung's lack of competition that enables Apple to be relaxed like this in a potentially very competitive device category. Furthermore, this year they canceled their smallest Galaxy Tab S to only roll out a Plus and Ultra model this year! What's with that lack of vision? I'd not feel sorry for the job of whoever made that kind of market research on tablet space in case they got fired.

Samsung, make a snappy portable tablet. It'll sell like hotcakes. Or go on and keep dishing out more forgettable devices for your boring FE line-up for all I care. I bought an FE phone and tablet before, I'll avoid them from now on.

The iPad Mini on the other hand... dropping a lot of money for the brand-new version is something I don't want to do since it's pretty close to iPad Air M2 ballpark but I do want that portability and versatility. But the power and futureproofing of the Air is confusing me when you do shell out 500ish dollars... Oof.

btw, I did find cheaper iPad Mini 6 deals but I'm not so sure since it's a 3yo model and double the RAM, a much more powerful SoC and a higher-speed USB output is really strong points for the Mini 7

Why would Apple need to raise the pixel density on the display. It has Apple's highest pixel density of 326. Even the XDR display is 218. 8gb RAM is a big upgrade, the chip makes sense. iPad Mini is not a PRO device.

Yeah they “upgraded” the iPad mini and forced you to buy the pencil pro, (as now you cannot use the pencil 2 any longer) and the pencil pro which is supposed to be used on PRO devices when the iPad mini is not close to that, albeit having the outdated “pro chip”. End of the day making money for themselves 😂
