I have a fundamental issue with this video. People that are looking for a <$300 Setup for beginning sim racing. The complaints that you have are not "fixable at that price. What you are complaining about is that the $250 wheel is worse than a $2500 setup. You are not offering any other budget options. This video does nothing but make people feel bad for not spending a fortune on a sim setup. Sorry to be negative but I don't see the point in this video topic at all.

Disclaimer for entry-level buyers!

The wheel and pedals are sturdy. They're well made, the plastic isn't cheap and they have weight to them. The leather is a good touch, but not as great as the metal rim it's sewn on. Logitech always have good-feeling peripherals, their plastic stands the test of time and desk smashing.

Now, build-quality aside, the biggest reason why you would want to get this wheel over Thrustmaster's wheels of the same price range, are the pedals and the shifter if you want to drift or drive manual, without busting the bank in entry-level price point.

This wheel comes with a clutch, brake and throttle pedal already (which as i stated, feel sturdy and not cheap) with a 60$ 6-speed shifter add-on. It's not great and feels lower quality than the wheel and pedals, but it's only 60$ and perfectly usable. If you decide to get Thrustmaster's T150 or T300, you'll have to pay for the metal pedals that also include a clutch (otherwise, you only have Brake and Throttle). However, having a clutch pedal without a shifter is pointless. Which is where the big deal-breaker comes in; the Thrustmaster TH8A shifter costs 220$

So, if you want to drift or drive manual, the G29+Shifter will cost you 280$ in total.
With Thrustmaster, you have: T150 (200$)+T3PA pedals (200$)+TH8A shifter(220$) and you reach a total of approximately 620$. That's 340$ more for the same setup.
However, Thrustmaster have higher-end wheel bases and more sim-centered add-ons in their ecosystem, while Logitech only has the G29 and the shifter.

If you're looking for entry-level gear for entry-level pricing and you want to be able to drift and drive manual and overall have more possibilities and features, get the G29 with the Shifter.
If you have 340$ more to spare, you can get the T150+T3PA+TH8A shifter now and upgrade with Thrustmaster add-ons from their product range.

I'' personally get the G29+Shifter and if i get into sim racing, i'll save up for Fanatec's upcoming CSL DD base (which will get cheaper as time goes on, i won't upgrade for a good while)
Fanatec beats Thrustmaster in all regards, except for aviation or trucking gear. And price, but we're talking sim-racing here.

Unnecessary video imo. Sim racing is definitely not a cheap hobby to maintain, and those entry wheels have a huge impact SPECIALLY if you consider people from countries with not that good of an economy. I had to spend a few months saving money so I could get a g920 just to try sim racing out and I'm having loads of fun with it. The cheapest product int the market will never have the same attributes as more expensive ones, but thanks to them, people like me, who can't afford better gear without saving money for years, can also have fun.

After being disappointed with the purchase of the thrustmaster t150, i picked up a texas instruments ti-84 plus CE and realized it works miles better on f1 2021

I don't get what this video is for. All of these 'flaws' are simply a necessity considering the very good price. It has all the features you would want to start with. Of course it is not going to be as high quality as something multitudes its price and you can't expect that from it.
You do say you made this video purposefully negative for views and do talk positively about the wheel at the end but I just don't think this is going to help anybody interested in one of these. They will just get halfway through the video and think 'Oh, so this wheel sucks, I guess I can't get into this without spending 500 bucks'
which as far as I am concerned is simply untrue.

Hurt my feelings man. LOL. Yeah it's not the greatest thing out there, but when you balling on a budget, you gotta do what you gotta do. I've upgraded the spring in my brake pedal, but you're right, better pedals and a load cell brake would help a great deal.

I assume the small size is mainly to reduce the leverage you have on the wheel, making the perceived force feedback stronger. It’s the reverse of why older cars without power steering had much larger wheels.

Recently got an open-box g29 for $113, super happy with it considering I've never driven before myself and this serves as a nice way to teach me how to drive.

It's the best budget wheel
Sim racing isn't cheap

Just got the G29. It does what it's supposed to do, it looks good on my rig. You don't need expensive to be a good racer....that ultimately comes down to skill.

I got the G920 for about $220 USD a couple of years ago. I love it. For a beginning or casual driver the value can't be beat. For the serious driver this wheel can certainly produce fast lap times while you're saving up on a racing rig. I would highly recommend it.

not all of us can afford a $1000+ wheel, i read this is a great wheel for a budget level and ive read all but positive reviews on it. I am going to buy the Logitech G29 wheel for GT7 on PSVR2.

Honestly I got both the g29 and the t150 pro and I found the g29 to have better buttons and build quality . Unfortunately I didn't even get to use the t150 because it would not mount to my desk, the g29 has a great mourning system. The pedals are bad, but I use the clutch as my brake and I found that to be good enough for me. I mainly just play f12020 so for now this is better than my controller. If I stick with racing, I'll go for something higher end but rn I can't justify spending 600 cad on a t300 Rs gt . Great vids Keep it up

i was honestly looking into getting one of these but the small size instantly got me looking for a different product, thanks for the insight

You know you can adjust the force feedback on the sliders in almost every sim racing game

If there is anyone who has the same problem like I had, if you want to drive a car and relax driving a car around or even maybe practice driving it should do the job. I let my father play on it (he's experienced driver) and he was amazed

Look guys trust me if you are a beginner in sim racing just buy a g29 because who knows you might not even like sim racing, so don't start buying expensive things right away and also remember a wheel won't make you any better but it will make you feel better

I gotta disagree with you as the G29 in my opinion is a big step up from my old RGT Thrustmaster wheel. I honestly can't fault it so it gets a BIG thumbs up from me 👍🏻
