A fierce faceoff erupted in the Parliament a day after the Modi government presented the Union Budget 2024-25. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman countered the opposition's claims. Calling the Budget discriminatory, opposition MPs in Rajya Sabha staged a walkout. Opposition I.N.D.I.A bloc says the budget sidelines non-NDA states. The BUTT UGLY part of the budget which should trigger a national uproar and protest is Indexation of property sale. My grandfather’s ₹30, 000 house purchase is now ₹4cr is taxed at ₹50, 00, 000. With indexation it would be ₹6 to ₹7 lakhs.
