I have an optima red top optima 8 yrs old in Soldotna ALASKA. Last year 19 below zero with out having block heater plugged in. It dragged a little bit but fired up an 8 cylinder thumbs up to optima and he'll yeah !!

Really liked the video. It's hard to find a good one that does this battery justice. My situation is: I just bought a boat and I was looking for a battery to power my trolling motor. A little bit of research showed that the yellow top CAN be used for marine use too! It's a fantastic little piece of information that can easily slip through the cracks. These batteries really ARE worth the money. Very impressive.

Can I use the red top battery as my secondary battery in my trunk for a car amplifier. I understand the yellow is the most desired for this but I bought the red by accident.

I replaced the factory battery in my 07 Silverado, after three years of service. I replaced it with a red top Optima. still going strong! Five years ago, I installed a red top in my 93 Chevy p/u no issues. (gets driven less than 300 miles a month, as my third vehicle)

Ive had a yellow top running my 2, 200 watt stereo for three years now with no problem. and that's with my stock 90 amp alternator that's way too small lol

Can't find an AGM for my specific vehicle. In particular my car calls for a battery type size of 121-R-1 I've even seen it call for a 121-R-70. Is this not a typical battery size and how long before I could possibly see this size in an Optima? My vehicle is a 2012 Hyundai Accent GS. Or as my best friend calls it, The Football Helmet. lol

i never replaced my battery in my truck when i got my red top. i just ran the two in parallel for a total rating of 1260CCA

Buyer be aware!! Just to let everyone to now this. I have the digital 1200 battery charger. It fell of the stand the other day and the plastic handle broke. I called optima to buy a new handle and they DO NOT SELL PARTS FOR for me to fix it. It's so great having a expensive charger and can't fix it!

I was all up for buying a pair of yellow tops for my U.K spec Hilux (has two batteries as standard) but watching this I think I’ll spend my money elsewhere, it still has the standard Toyota batteries from 2015 at the moment but don’t know how much longer they’ll last !
