Thanks for this Jan. I lost my lovely 98 year old mum this morning, and it has been so good to take a few minutes with you, your calm voice and a little "normality" in what has been a traumatic and very sad day. Keep up the good work, and I will look forward to watching you tomorrow. Thanks so much for all the trouble you go to for us all to enjoy. Love to you and Mike. I'm glad he enjoyed his birthday and your special stitch. Xxx

My Dear Flossy Friend Jan:
This is the first time I'm commenting on a YouTube video. I just wanted to say a warm thank you for all the work you have done producing your videos. I have been watching on my TV for a while, and I made it a goal for this week to comment on my favourite flosstubers! I am an avid fan. I thoroughly enjoy each video you upload. I just picked up my cross stitch about 6 months ago, after a 25yr break. Like you, I love turquoise, but any bright colour is favourite. You make me smile during each video, and after a long day of work frustration, watching your videos inspires me to stitch, but also gives me some faith in humanity again. I’m absolutely going to stitch “Give Love, Get Love.” I feel like the entire Flosstube community are “my people.”

I picked up punch needle at the same time I started to cross stitch again. I find it fast, relaxing (the stabbing is very cathartic, ) and easy (I’ll start a punch needle without a pattern, and I never would start a cross stitch without a pattern.)

I love the magazine flip through, I’m going to subscribe to the digital format. I was worried that the summer issue would be too American patriotic, because I am Canadian. There is such a nice variety of patterns that it still makes it worthwhile for me!

Thank you again for all you do,

Natalie

Sub-Rosa Designs is amazing. She has so many cute patterns. If you like her stuff she has a wonderful Etsy shop.

thanks Jan, great treat. St. John's Day is around the first day of summer when all the Saint John's wort is blooming here in California. I am not Catholic so I don't know the story of Saint John, but I do know he has yellow flowers and a day named after him. Our place is full of crows and hawks and stellar jays. I taught a Native American program for several years and crows were a big part of the lore along with all the other animals and birds of the USA. I have really grown to love crows and the calling they do. We have had 2 large hawks build a nest above our house in a tree and they have been making a racket and one day they crashed to the ground right in front of us, we didn't know if they were fighting or having sex. After they crashed to the ground they looked at us sort of stunned and flew off.

Love the glasses. You answered my question about the punch needle patterns translated into cross stitch. Thanks. There are several I would like. I also like the box with changeable patterns. Guess I’ll have to get the magazine.

Ok, Jan...I just went and subscribed to this magazine. I can't wait to punch that Michelle Palmer sheep design. Thanks for the flip through. I am so glad more flosstubers are including punch needle. I love cross stitch, but because I don't have to grasp that tiny needle, punch needle is easier on my arthritic hands. Your work is always beautiful! Btw...I love history, too!

That’s funny that you say that about Mike doing the dishes. When I first heard that noise before you explained what it was I always thought he was doing the dishes in the background and I was thinking geez I wish my husband did the dishes that often lol

Thanks for this flip through. It's making me want to pick up my punchneedle project again. Wool applique is wonderful, wool is lovely to stitch. Have you heard of Sue Spargo? I love her combination of wool/fabric and multiple stitches. Best wishes.

Just got my first hardcopy issue of this magazine... LOVE IT!!! I was thinking on the Summer Saltbox (page 55) to omit the crow and possibly add some starts in the sky instead? thanks for the flip through... it was enjoyable! :o)

I think the St John refers to St Johns day on June 24th. Thank you for another great video.
