I am so glad to hear how well your friend is doing with her injury! My boss thought she was on the last step going down to her basement and fell. She had a compound fracture and is still not able to put any weight on that ankle at all. It's been a month and a half. So she's wheeling around the office in a wheelchair, hoping soon to get a walking cast. She said it's amazing how missing a 6" step can change your life!... Great update!

Jan, so glad to hear your friend is on the road to recovery. I can truly sympathize with the tailbone pain. I’ve had 3 major falls the last few years, injuring my tailbone each and every time. Sounds like you have a good physical therapist to help you get better. Have a great week & happy stitching!

Glad your friend is on the mend, glad you have your iPad back. I loved seeing your photos etc of the Big Island. I did not have a chance to comment on that video. We went to Kauai in July and it was our second visit. We have not visited any of the other islands. If you have not been to Kauai, I hope you can go someday and see that magical place too. Your piece is looking beautiful. I think I must order some Missus Seda silks. - Sue T.

Listening to your tailbone pains, I go out in sympathy. In late 2009, I was 17 weeks pregnant and went sliding/falling down our front stairs on my behind, breaking my tailbone and then in March/April 2010 when baby was 4 weeks old I was bathing all 3 kids and slipped over in the bathroom and oh the pain again. Youch. I could tell afterwards that my tailbone now has healed pointing on an angle forwards unlike it was before

What a game changer! Thanks Carolyn (&Jan) for the heads up on samples!! I’m so torn between 18 Aida (easy grid) or 28 evenweave or even 25 count. Now I don’t have to freak out, I can just ask for a sample pack and get more HAEDs 😂😂. Thank you for the sweet shout out- always fun to connect with you and others with such a work of art (both the stitching and the artist!) so excited for the year of “farewell!”

✨ stay beautiful my friend.

Hello my very dear Jan!
Get a tattoo if you feel like it. Just find a design that you like and go ahead! I have one for more than 20 years and it didn´t hurt so much!! The sacrum bone hurts a lot more!! I also broke it at age 7, when I fell down the stairwell and for me the hardest thing is to sit and still for a long time... Maybe that's why I don't finish any cross stitch project. LOL ;)
And of course, you have to do a motif of each color!! New solid colors on the way to you!! And some surprises!! 😘😘😘

Enjoyed watching you stitch with Missus Sedas floss. I was also using some of her floss so was enjoying that. Have a good weekend.

Just love this Patchwork pattern. Gorgeous. I'm still working on my Shades of Wine but using missus sedas Darling. I have 2 tattoos - a tiny ladybird on my shoulder and an elephant on the inside of my left wrist. The latter is in memory of my friends son who passed away. I see it every day and am reminded of Michael.
Look forward to hearing/seeing your secret!!

Glad you got your IPad back. It’s amazing how much of our lives are on our devices.

Glad your friend is doing better. She shouldn’t have too much trouble with all the hardware in her ankle. I have screws in my back plus both knees replaced. It seemed like it took a year before my knees felt like they were part of my body again. I know that sounds strange but at first I could feel something foreign in my body but now it’s just part of me. However I can tell the changes in the weather 🤣🤣🤣

Patchwork is so lovely - love the vibrant colors! Your tailbone story was just PAINFUL to listen to! And to think- you’ve had issues ever since “the accident” - amazing. I’m glad you’re finally finding some relief. Have a lovely weekend! (And WHY do I want to go with you to get matching tattoos?? Omg wouldn’t that be a fun shenanigans to get into at Stitch Con???)

Love this piece! Glad your iPad is back. A tattoo on your hand will hurt. I would start with a different location. I did my shoulder first and based on that decided against my ankle.

Hi Jan..I got my first tattoo when I turned 50 and got 3 total!! The one on my shoulder hurt the most...it was pricey here in S Florida so I imagine it will be so there in Hawaii as well. I have Celiac so I am gluten free too; however, when I travel outside the US I can eat gluten with no side effects ..I suspect the problem is because of all the chemicals used here in the US. Can't wait to hear your announcement ❣️ Be well!

Jan...Duke's sausage shorty sticks (at WM) are gluten-free and great for keto-ers. We also always pack a few Babybels for the road when we go out (we always have a small cooler in the car for snacks/water).
When traveling here in the U.S., I eat wedgie burgers at fast food restaurants (Carl's Jr's is the best) and Cobb salads at chain restaurants. Denny's slams with only eggs and meat are good, too. :)
