I got out early before work yesterday and knocked out this fun track workout. I say fun because I am rarely on a track so it just kind of feels special to me. grabbed the Nike Zoom Fly 3's and went for 800m at 6:30min/mi pace (200m recovery) x 8. Honestly this seemed like a tall order for me but ended up finding a good rhythm and knocked them out. Also some race updates and a couple reason to do workouts like this even if you are like me and training for much further distances like half marathon or full marathon.

Currently uploading to Garmin Connect which synchs with Strava AND Adidas Running app... it's too much... just follow on STRAVA!

800m repeats are tough but the track makes it easier. Once you start dropping the pace you’ll notice big gains! Keep it up.

So many ways, so if it was me (dealt with a lot of delays in 2020 for events), I would do a race of some sort on the original date, recover for 1 week with low mileage, and extend the training block for the last 6 weeks should be enough to recover. But depends if you can recover in that time. I know from experience for me last year, 8 weeks is enough, 4 weeks is not. I actually have the same issue with a Feb 2021 cancellation (will talk about it soon). Will be interesting to see what you decide to do, we all have our own way.

Considering your training block was only 9 weeks, I would add to your training block and run the race in April. I would also lower your goal to like 3:30 with the additional time to train. You could still do some type of time trial at the end of February

Hey, that's a pretty good speed! good job. I feel my legs feel pretty beat up especially my calves after a fast track workout. I'd love to see your recovery routine if you have one?

I'm eager to hit hard half marathon and marathon goal races this year but waiting until I find an in-person race that won't get canceled (hoping for fall). Until then I'm training for a hopeful 100-miler in May!

That would pretty challenging to adapt your training plan with the postponing of your marathon. I don't know what I would choose to do. At least they didn't cancel it.
