Back in the day, loggers didn't wear ear protection. Many of the older loggers suffered hearing loss from the noise. My step father was almost completely deaf.

These are the type of jobs where having a short attention span or a bad lapse in judgment can be fatal

Pizza delivery is far more deadlier then being a police officer. Thank you for being in the thin crust line.

Briggs you are banging out some good one lately. I think you should do more things like this. I love all the travel and location videos but American industry and careers are very interesting and important to all of us.

"Flying on brooms, like my cousin's ex wife. " First time in awhile that I've heard Briggs mention her. 😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣🤣

I was a logger for 10 years and had 4 near death experiences during this time, although I never got seriously injured. What I found strange was how benign it seemed most of the time, then out of the blue something would nearly kill you. In the end I went back to school and got out of this industry for good -- probably wouldn't be alive if I hadn't.

I wonder how many people had to google the “Green Acres” reference.

Our family always played it safe. My father was an air force pilot, my oldest brother was a cop, 2 were timber fallers, one is in construction and I was a truck driver, for many years hauling 11ft X 20ft sheets of glass 😜

I have worked in many of these fields and in the real world the most dangerous job is small farming. (Between 250-1000 acres) You're always alone moving heavy equipment, repairing tractors, felling trees, welding, constantly exposed to dangerous chemicals... the list goes on and on; the big part is there is no safety regulations. Hell, I'm lucky if I even have a helper.

Surprised being an electrical lineman isn’t one of the most dangerous. High elevation and energized lines are pretty gnarly

I was a roofer for about 20 years, now I drive a cab. So, I’ve done 2 on this list. I feel much safer in a cab.

I had several of these jobs but in 1970 as an 18 year old logging in the Olympics I had to jump off a 20 foot cliff because the tree wouldn't stop rolling down the hill and rolled over where I was standing . My 1 year of logging I saw a man lose a leg from a broken choker, a steel cable snapping.

Yeah i voted for the timber industry. I couldn't believe people thought it was law enforcement. I think just because all of the media attention it gets.

List of former jobs I’ve held-
1. Rafting logs to paper mill.
2. Setting chokers for a helicopter logging company.
3. Boilermaker- steel construction and rigging.
4. Landscaping maintenance.
5. Dump truck driver.
6. Heavy equipment operator.
7. Coal miner.
8. Wastewater treatment plant professional.
9. Farmer/ rancher
Now I’ll share the two most dangerous jobs I’ve ever done in my life.
1. Water park maintenance mechanic. I’ve seen tattoos on people where nobody should have viewed them.
2. Resident Adult at a university housing facility. Imagine Animal House with today’s modern pharmaceuticals. And today’s modern party/hookup culture.

I knew a cart guy at Walmart back in 2013 who quit the job cause he was afraid of getting ran over. Started work as a garbage man months later. Was ran over and killed first week on the job. Was only 20.

I like to live life on the dangerous side I guess. My first job was working on a dairy farm. Did logging for a little while after that before going into construction. Did that for a couple years before moving on to become a heavy truck mechanic (which wasn't on this list. I think the dangers in that industry are injuries more so than fatalities). Did that for about 4-5 years before getting my CDL and becoming a cattle hauler. Definitely have witnessed and experienced my fair share of injuries in all of these industries, but so far the only one where I have unfortunately witnessed fatalities has been truck driving. Too many people take for granted the sheer destructive power of a vehicle when it is handled carelessly (especially an 80, 000lb truck and trailer going 70mph down the road).
