Woah, I don't usually have unscripted videos on my channel, but people get a whiplash when they hear my normal talking vs my lore talking. HAHAHAHA. Anyway, here's my final thoughts on my favorite nation in Genshin. I was going to have this scripted but I was like

"now where's the fun in that??"

I would disagree that Nahida got outsmarted by the larger bad guys. She was outARMED. Dottore made it known to NAhida that whatever she pulled, Dottore is stronger than her combat wise. She actually did what she could in her situation.

I pointed this out to my friends. The reason why we felt extremely relieved, refreshed and generally excited when we stepped on the lush and vibrant rainforest of Sumeru was because it was a stark contrast to the gloomy, almost monotonous, and dark-colored motif of Inazuma. It was a literal breath of fresh air when we saw the verdant flora, felt the sunny weather, and heard the calmness of the forest.

As someone from South Asia, culturally I find Sumeru to be extremely rewarding in terms of its representation. I know many disagree but we can't deny that in terms of music, food, and overall landscape, I enjoyed seeing some of my culture and many other cultures integrated in this world.
Seeing butter chicken, biriyani, and panipuri just made me so proud to be Sri Lankan. The music and environment evoked such an atmosphere that told me, I am where my parents call home. I do admit some outfits are.. *cough* inexcusable.. but I do see care with some of the character designs. Nilou's whole character and design is filled with love for Persia and their dance. Nahida, although some may disagree, she does have cultural elements like the bangles, clothing patterns, the fabrics used in Saris and Lama Sari. And even if the designs are off, the characters themselves are full of vibrancy and humanity.
Now that we're more than half way through the whole story of Teyvat, I'm eager to see what will be done in Fontaine not only in terms of culture, but also in the story, world building, and gameplay Genshin has in store for us.

Sumeru is probably the current nation with most content

Still can’t help but feel like Dottore’s whole clone gimmick was severely under-utilised and I kinda wish that some of the elements from the Manga were referenced more in the Archon Quests, but otherwise Sumeru easily had the best story quests of any region we’ve seen so far and even the optional limited time event content has a lot of personality and charmed.

The only complaint I have with Sumeru is a personal one - the under-utilisation of Candace. I feel like she was one of the characters with the most interesting lore and could've played a much bigger part in the Deshret arc but she just didn't do much? However, I also feel like this is subject to change in the future as the Desert's story seems nowhere near finished and we also need to delve into the mysterious organisation known as the 'Temple of Silence.' So, I'm really hoping we get to see more Candace when the time comes.

The entire lore dump during the negotiation dialogue between Kusanali & Dottore was so satisfying, it finally felt like I helped a nation to get closer our sibling unlike the previous archon quests (except dain's) that just left me with the feeling - "I went through all of that just for them to not know/not tell anything about my sibling" & this is coming from someone who usually skips dialogue, this was probably the best dialogue I've got from this game.

I absolutely love Sumeru. From the characters to the quests and lore to the exploration, I just love everything about it. Despite being so different from Mondstadt culturally it felt really similar. Both of those regions just feel so alive and full of personality

i have just 1 complain about sumeru, and genshin in general, major worldbuilding quests not being voiced while the once and done events are, rana's quest (the big aranara one) and jeht's questline being the biggest offenders, i would have prefered a voiced golden sluber than leila's sleep deprived pokemushroom tournament

I honestly miss the 5 week patches. It made the game so much more enjoyable because there wasnt those weird content drought periods where we would wait for the next event to start

I loved Sumeru

Probably my favorite region thus far. Music, atmosphere, story, introduction of Dendro, All solid.

Its external but only thing that soured me a little was the constant bickering online.

I'm honestly sad that Sumeru's story is coming to an end. I will miss it so much. I loved the characters a lot. Probably my favorite cast from any nation.

I really hope I could go to Conquest and say hi to you, but it's honestly my finals week then and thesis presentation. Have fun there though!

I genuinely enjoyed Sumeru as a whole. I loved the characters and how there were more involved with the quest in some way and the connections they have with each other. The entire plot to overthrow the sages was amazing, and I wasn't all that bothered by the length of it. There was just so much dialogue and talking though that I'd be clicking endlessly. Even the world quests with Jeht and the Aranara were great as it expanded more on the lore and history of Sumeru and Deshret and the Goddess of Flowers.

Sometimes it felt like too much. So much was being released each patch, there were new gimmicks, new puzzles, new was to get around that I had to stop and prioritize what I needed to do. The entirety of underground Sumeru can go BURN, it was endless, there were so many caves, what the heck.

Sumeru started to get deep and complex very quickly. I'd like to see more revelations spread out more evenly across the storylines. *Not the time-limited event storylines*

ik you touched on it but i think its nice to hear ppl point out that EVERYTHING we asked for in genshin is in star rail. more combat modes, good endgame, great characterization, better stamina system, ect ect

Sumeru was amazing. My only complaint was the pacing of the archon quest. It's ok though, I'm guessing they were experimenting with a different style and hoping to keep doing so based on player feedback.

If they give Celestia a huge role in fontaine, then it'll give them the reason to put out an endgame. Like a "Celestial Trials" for example.
