The Pectoralis Minor is a very overlooked muscle in our body that can lead to a myriad of problems. Because many of us neglect stretching, spend a lot of time sitting down, as well as tending to focus more on the muscles we can see in the mirror, our Pectoralis Minor muscle can get very tight.

When this muscle is tight, it can round our shoulders forward. Not only do rounded shoulders cause bad posture, but it can also cause back pain and nerve pain, as well as increase the likelihood for Impingement Syndrome at the shoulder.

A great way to relieve a tight Pectoralis Minor is to do a chest stretch that does the opposite actions of what the muscle does. In other words, we want a stretch that incorporates upward rotation of the shoulder blade, external rotation and shoulder retraction. Hold this chest stretch for 2 minutes on each side.

Doing this particular chest stretch for the Pectoralis Minor muscle will go a long way towards preventing the many complications that arise from this muscle being tight.

Your videos are awesome man! I noticed you about a month ago on the youtube scene and honestly they have been so informative, I've learnt loads from them!

I myself have been struggling a lot with injuries especially my chest, I just can't seem to shake the injury one bit. I've done rehab and stretch often, it just seems to get really tight, and it seems like the pec minor region of my chest. Is there any specific exercises/ways to strengthen the pec minor? I miss training so bad!! I have tried myofascial release out on a tennis ball! I'd often get tight lats, neck, and pain in the rhomboid region! I just feel my body is shutting down haha! I hope I can gain some advice from you! Keep up the awesome work, you should have a lot more subscribers!!

I nearly does this when trying to stretch my pecs... I will start to have my arm higher! =) Thx for the tip! But one question, do I have to do anything more to stretch the rest of the pecs? (I have very rounded and "pusched forward" shoulders.)
