In this video I show you the BEST Powerbait rig/setup for Trout fishing in ponds and lakes.

I went to one of my favorite local ponds to do some Trout fishing. I decided to use Powerbait and I wanted to show you my favorite setup. It's very easy and simple. It works GREAT! I show you how to tie the rig and get it setup. I also show you my favorite Powerbait to use. I caught some Rainbow Trout on Powerbait and I also caught a Rainbow Trout on a spinner.

I use the same setup with one little extra. I use small plastic bead (like you get for make kids jewelry) between the swivel and weight. Gives a little cushion to your knot without out really adding any weight or resistance. Great video also.

I'm one of those fishermen who don't like to see fish suffer after being caught...that I'm going to keep, so I knock the fish hard on top of the head to knock it out . My needle nose pliers are heavy enough to knock it out if I hit fish with metal handle part..not needle end. Putting rope, metal chain, or a stick through its gills and leaving it in water to try and breathe seems cruel. It's suffering so I knock mine out and put it on stringer if water is cold or I put it on ice. I'm not a tree hugger but I want the least amount of suffering for what I just caught.
