The film is a direct sequel to the 1992 film of the same name and the fourth film in the Candyman film series, based on the short story "The Forbidden" by Clive Barker. See what I loved about this, is it showed how these Urban Legends get started. You see we all understand and know that Helen did not kidnap the baby; she did not kill the dog, we know all of this right? But it's been 30 years since it happened and so the details of the story of changed. Kinda like the telephone game. But when I thought was more interesting was the fact that Brianna's brother was telling this story about the baby to the baby! 🤯

Even though Helen saved Anthony, she was so heartbroken and afraid that she ended up dying and made a sacrifice herself to become his late wife again. Remember when Candyman told her, Yours is mine?" She had already lost herself, letting go of all hope. But once again, her soul was a sacrifice for his original soulmate because she looked just like her, while baby Anthony was supposed to be a sacrifice for Candyman. Over all, poor Helen was a sacrifice herself to become his late wife because she looked just like her. While Anthony was supposed to be a full sacrifice for being reborn as Daniel Robitaille, aka the real Candyman,

Basically, she died to save a child and then in the future Anthony, the child summons the Candyman again, and in the end of the movie he becomes the Candyman crazy

Actually the story is false. Helen was a grad student but Candyman made her look like she gone insane and did all of that but she burns and kills her husband after he called her name in the mirror

This movie made the original pointless. Helen sacrificed her life saving baby Anthony from the bonfire wreckage. Yet, Anthony becomes the Candyman in this film. So Candyman won after all smh. I prefer the "Farewell to the flesh" since it moved on to new story and that sequel was so generic.
