NEW Sanguinary Guard but NO WINGS! Also NEW Sanguinor Revealed for Blood Angels!

We have new Sanguinary Guard but this one is going to ruffle a few feathers if you forgive the pun, as their iconic wings are GONE! There's also a new Sanguinor on the way too!

Its another Blood Angels Monday with brand new Sanguinary Guard revealed, but this time in a box of 3 (booo!) and without their iconic wings (Double boooooo!). I can see this one being rather controversial amongts Blood Angles players, and will be interesting to read the reaction online of both the missing wings and the smaller mini count per box.

On the plus side, the new Sanguinor is a worthy glow of the old one, keeping the angelic crucifix style pose and just evolving with the times to a much nicer (and plastic) miniature.

Please let me know your thoughts in the comments - what do you think of these latest Blood Angels reveals, and what do you think we will see next? There's a hint about more upgraded Blood Angels so I still think Sanguinary Guard and maybe a new Sanguinor.

After taking a day to properly look at these, I think the old Sanguinor head is much better, and I also think the Sanguinary Guard Death mask helms are poor - the old kit had much better options including some decorated MK7 helms. What’s your thoughts on these heads?

if you've some spare stormcast eternals helmets knocking about, stick them on some jump pack intercessors and you've got 5 sanguinary guard for the price of 3. 👍

For the Sanguinary Guard, I don't mind the loss of the wings so much, I didn't really like the heavily heroic scale of the old models. The new ones are a bit thick though, I would've liked them a bit thinner and more angelic? Maybe I'm spoiled by the AoS4 Stormcast lol. And their helmets look bald which is kind of silly. I really don't like the Sanguinor's helmet though, in the Dante books he's clearly described as a perfect image of Sanguinius in anguish, complete with golden tears sculpted rolling down his cheeks; this just looks like a helmet, which is so dull. I hate the hoses being there so much. I don't mind him being Primaris since most BA are Primaris now, their combined willpower summoning a friendly warp entity that looks like them makes sense I suppose.

I guess the designers were told to take the jump pack intercessor models and Blood Angels-ify them, so that's what we got, rather than the "works of art" the previous models had as their style. Oh well. If I do get these, I'll try putting the old Sanguinor head on the new body, and maybe the old Guard jump packs/wings on the new bodies.

TBH this has made me a bit worried for a Grey Knights refresh though, they'll be painfully dull if they just get a Primaris armour upgrade and lose all their unique decorations...

The new SG aren’t bad, but the cut down to a bodyguard unit of 3 is disappointing. I do like how they’re not super high off the ground - like some of the recent jump troops.

I’m looking forward to the new edition of kill team.

im tired of the tacticool style . these supposed to be demigods and look as one too . strong simbolism and iconography
