Comparing Fish on 2D Sonar and Down Imaging

This video addresses the differences between 2D sonar many of us are familiar with to Down Imaging technology that is now commonplace on many popular fishfinders. Jeff “Kolo” Kolodzinski provides a basic overview of each technology, how they function and what you see on your screen. He displays both simultaneously so you can make a quick reference as to what fish look like on each, and most importantly, understand when and how to use both technologies to better interpret what lies below the boat.

Well thats a head I knew about the cone of 2D and narrow band of down imaging. But never connected the dots. Now I understand when I am not moving forward I still see things on 2D and the down imaging gets washed out. Thank you for connecting the dot.
