Jinbe is honestly my favorite character not counting Luffy, in terms of his overall personality. He's an exemplary person up there with uncle Iroh. You just can't help but respect him.

The moment when Nami says she can't hate him because he's a fishmen is beautiful. He realises that he did it. He did what Fisher Tiger wanted. Fishmen are not hated by at least one human, and a human that was opressed horribly by a fishman. He cries, probably remembers Fisher Tiger and i think that's when he knew he would accept if Luffy would ask him to join.

Jimbei is definitely underrated as a Straw Hat. His connection to Luffy and Nami is so cool. I love him as a Straw Hat and I’m happy to see him on the crew.

I'm a karateka, so I naturally gravitate towards martial artists in manga, but even as people criticised him for being a bad character and a bad fit for the Straw Hats, I could see what was going on - Oda essentially built Jinbe "backwards", giving us his major conflicts and backstory before he's even really asked to join the crew, so even if he's absent for most of the time due to the Big Mom-related issues, he's basically already carved his place in the crew by the time he finally joins them in full.

Jinbe’s respect for luffy is charming and also funny. Jinbe’s a former warlord, years of experience, a genuine threat, yet he looks at luffy, lovable goof ball he is, and wishes to be on his crew. He sees what a lot of others see, luffy has a one of kind spirit and charisma that can’t help but draw people in. Seeing luffy so happy he jumped and gave jinbe a hug when he came back (officially) was so wholesome like he has another father figure

It’s insane to me how every straw hat is lovable. Each are fleshed out, each have had amazing fights and stand out moments. Jinbei was such a phenomenal addition, and I’m so happy!

The thing with Jinbe that I love the most, is the connections and similarities he shares with many of the strawhats. Like Brook, he shoulders an entire world's worth of burdens on his shoulder, both him and Chopper have suffered at the hands of humans, Franky and Jinbe hated pirates and were jaded by the brutality of the world government, Zoro and Jinbe's determination to push through grief via their love for their captain and the ones who spurned them on, the love and acceptance from Nami which, by the way, is a MASSIVE stepping stone. She could have blamed him, hated him, PUNCHED HIM and he would have accepted it. But she forgave and she loved him because of his kindness and loyalty to Luffy. And then there's Sanji, and both of these guys are willing to risk EVERYTHING, putting their life on the line to prove themselves and live up to their aspirations. Luffy truly is the Pirate King, and Jinbe will forever be the Helmsman of the Thousand Sunny.

I personally would love to see you cover a Blackbeard video next and the mirrors between him and Luffy.

Jimbei is someone who can think calmly about a situation and bring stability to other characters.
Even for someone like Big Mom, he was able to ease her hunger pains before telling her that he's leaving her crew.

Jinbie is hardcore husband material. The dad the ship desperately needed. I love how he bonds with Robin, and really hope that he and Usopp can get their own moments.

Jinbe is one of my favorite characters in general, he’s so powerful and serious but the moment he’s with the straw hats he’s a stress dad trying to keep his kids safe. The scene of him telling the Sun Pirates about Luffy is so adorable! The way they made him realise that he has already adopted Luffy is hilarious, and honestly I couldn’t help to tear up a little.

I honestly wasn’t expecting to love him so much when I started the show, but now he has his own little special place in my heart with Brook

Jinbei is an amazing character. He is probably the closest thing to am actual tactician and strategist the Strawhats have, and is probably one of the few people Luffy will actually listen to, even if he already has his mind and heart set on doing the opposite. His resolve and steadfastness are unparalleled (the man stood his ground against the full might of Big Mom and called her a "mere emperor of the sea" to her face with not an ounce of fear or doubt).

But I think the thing I love about him the most is that he is still incredibly humble and open to new things. And this is played up to hillarious effect when he takes on the role of the most "junior" member of the Strawhats, deferring completely to how the rest of the crew "does things" and trying to take that to heart when, first, this man has more experience being a pirate that probably the rest of the Strawhats combined, except Brook, and second the way the Strawhats "do things" is pretty much barely directed (not even controlled) chaos and just flying by the collective seat of their pants. Watching him see the Strawhats do something just bonkers and Jimbei going "well, that's really odd, but if that's the way they do it on thus crew then I'll strive to do just that, " especially when Robin, being the absolute troll that she is, just affirms it, is pretty much comedic gold.

Everything about Jinbei and Luffy's relationship is incredible, but the image of Luffy hugging onto Jinbei's side with the biggest grin and Jinbei grinning *back* ? Fuck dude, it's too cute, it's too wholesome, I am GOING to scream and cry and explode
