Here's an easy way to create ROMs..
1. Root your device
2. Deodex your rom (Important for modding or theming APKs)
3. Install all the mods you want to come with your rom. Mod and theme all you want.Make it the perfect rom
4. Create a Nandroid backup
5. Extract the system partition created from the nandroid backup
6. Put the extracted system in a flashable zip and create your own updater script
7. Sign your zip
8. Voila!!

An even easier way is to root your existing rom, make all changes etc. Edit the build prop file, make all other changes like wallpapers and boot animations with apps available from app store. Remove all apps you used to customise. Then making sure its as fresh as possible ensure you don't have games or anything else installed. Now reboot phone to twrp, back up the rom and all parts, tick everything. Now move that zip to you pc for safe keeping. Rename it the zip file to what ever you want and there you go flash and enjoy. Please hate in mind I'm not responsible for bricked devices. Do at own risk.
