I love my linen sheets. The only drawback is they are on the cold side in the winter. I'm a girl who sleeps in a bedroom with no heat and the windows open in the winter, so as much as I love them, I need flannel in the winter. But for the other three seasons, they're amazing.

Another benefit for pet owners -- I have cats and the linen sheets don't tend to collect fuzzy cat fur. (I'm sure Lottie is far to refined to shed ... she's a lady). But mine shed like banshees and the other sets I have -- including the flannel -- collect cat hair. Linen doesn't. Win on that front.

When I was a child, in the fifties, we always had linen sheets, which my mother ironed. I remember it was bitter cold getting into bed in winter and I changed to brushed cotton for my own children! If you live in a well heated modern house, or in a warm climate linen is lovely, and definitely not scratchy.

When I switched to linen 5 years ago and never went back to anything else. Linen is the best for bedding. 100% linen and I have 2 sets I rotate with for 5 years and still going strong.

Ironing sheets lol. At my wedding shower, yeeeears ago, a gift giver noted that these sheets were so thick you didn't have to iron them. A couple of friends and I exchanged looks. I have never and would never iron a sheet! A decent thread count, 100 percent cotton (linen in my future perhaps), no ironing neeeded.

LOVE Egyptian Linen, but sheets from Hemp (Marijuana leaves); is even better quality for wear same for sheets & clothes from Bamboo
Natural is breathable and always the best choices, for clothes as well
