Why does the Earth float in space without falling down?

I don’t think most understand how amazing it really is my thought is Earth is technically in space if there were no gravity earth would float away in space earth is just there like any other planet up its space under and above only part I don’t understand is if your on the bottom of the earth why aren’t we upside down always upright according to science there’s no top or bottom
