Did you notice this in Spirited Away? When Chihiro is riding the elevator in the bathhouse, the Radish Spirit rides past his floor. Why? So that Chihiro doesn't have to travel through the bathhouse alone.

The radish spirit represents a being of kindness and humility. He didn't care about the fact that she was a human, whereas the slugs and frogs treated her with disgust.

He also moves over to hide her a little better when Lin is talking to the frog guy and gets pulled away, and he was watching her and Lin from the bottom floor when they were approaching the elevator and was not anywhere near or heading towards the elevator.

As in he went over and got on the elevator SPECIFICALLY TO HELP HIDE CHIHIRO. He may have hit a floor button, but he had not been going to ANY floor himself.

After all, as the Spirit of Radishes, which are good for humans, he likes humans and doesn't want to see one brutalized by the LESS friendly yokai.

Add in that yokai can smell a human out, why is I that none of them near the elevator could smell Chihiro? Because not only was his big bulky body hiding her from sight, his powerful radish smell was drowning out her human scent... as well as keeping other yokai from getting on the elevator and stumbling across her.

This is also why Lin was happy to see he was on the elevator when it opened, and willing to leave Chihiro with him without a hesitation... not only was he a friendly Yokai, she knew damn well he was there to help them in a huge way. She knew he could keep her safe better even than she could just by being there.

He has always been my favorite in this movie and he's so underrated. Since i was a child, i was always waiting for his part in the movie, he's so cute 😭😭

I don't care that he only gets like 1 or 2 or 3 minutes of screen time.
For me,

he is one of the best and one of the most important characters in Spirited Away and you can't change my mind.

the radish spirit was the secret fan LITERALLY. He supported Sen/Chihiro till the end of her spiritual journey. If you noticed radish man was dancing for Sen like a cheerleader and was holding a fan. He will always be Sen’s homie
