Skip and Stephen A has always taken and thrown shots at folks over the years. Someone is giving Stephen A back what he dished out

Honestly despite the hate Nick Wright gets, first things first is one of the more entertaining shows of it's type. They genuinely get along, have fun, while also providing spirited debates.

This is why Max Kellerman is no longer on First Take, he wasn't really a debater that liked to go back and forth. He is more of a conversationalist and Stephen A Smith wanted someone that would attack him.

When JJ started out. He had a few good takes. But since his take on Larry Bird and his take on Ja, he lost me. Especially his take on Ja. It didn’t even feel genuine. It felt like he was trying to say something relevant just for the sake of saying it. It also sounded like he’s trying to fit in with all the cool kids and get invited to all the cookouts.

Hey SAS, if you're gonna dish it out then you should take it too...😂😂😂

Calls the Emmy’s “those things”. Belittles the award. He definitely wants one.

If you think this conflict is indicative of where sports media is going, you really don't know what you are looking at. Sports media is powered by conflict and conflicting opinions. This is why the debate format revolutionized the space. Thinking it's more than that is making a mountain out of a molehill.

Stephen A has taken personal shots at so many athletes, he needs a taste of his own medicine

All these news shows and sports shows are forgetting one thing: they are supposed to REPORT the news not BECOME the news. Jeez!!!!

I actually appreciated SAS being honest. You don't have to like it or agree with it. But you gotta respect his honesty and his hard work. Let's just say half the viewers of this video would do a hell of a lot worse and more wicked for $1M a month lol

He's a tv personaility. They all have egos, are paranoid, narcassitic and care deeply about being popular lol Why'd he kick of Max then? lol

It shows me how dumb down our society is...if it's ENTERTAINMENT....then nobody should ever take what they say seriously....ESPECIALLY when their crafting narratives about certain players they are greenlit to attack..js

Look if Sephen A is goin to be offended by the comments JJ made, to which I though wasn't a big thing, a jab at Stephen A, well that would be the wrong business for SAS

I don't believe or respect a word that comes out of Steven A. Smith's mouth. He is the ultimate mercenary who will do and say anything for money. Money is his god. I stopped watching ESPN a few years ago and only watch the games themselves and have no interest in their commentary or opinions. On TNT I only watch the games have no interest in that minstrel show with Charles Barkley and Shaquille Oneal. This entertainment angel is not my cup of tea.

I'm gonna say that Stephen A's response was more revealing about his own ego and (perhaps) narcissistic tendecies he may have developed across the span of his career on TV. First off I feel he needlessly disrespected JJ by attempting to ridicule what I thought were sound takes and articulate enough delivery of them. JJ responded with a little fire that should have been eaten up as fair. The fact that SAS went on to make a bigger deal about it and refer to himself as the star of First Take and talk up his podcast and other such viewing figures indicates to me someone who is more invested in celebrating himself as opposed to critiquing the sport. He also done alot of double talking in regards to the awards others got and reading between the lines it sounds like he believes it's him who should be getting awards for his work. I mean I could be wrong but that's the vibe I get.
