Could Apple have just made the best computer ever... for running Windows? Runninc Microsoft Windows on MAc computerts isn't somethign new, but at this price range I believe the Apple M2 Mac Mini might well be a great way for Apple to win over some Windows users.

As you will see in this video, I'd say that even the more expensive M2 Pro Mac Mini would still be a very viable option for people who want to have a creative setup for graphic designing or video editing, as well as having access to Microsoft only apps. Or even gaming!

The Apple M2 Mac Mini can run Windows 11 perfectly well, with only very minor compatibility concerns. Windows itself has gotten much slicker now, some may say just as friendly as MacOS Ventura. I am curious though, would you consider getting the M2 Mac Mini to run Windows on it?

The M2 Mac Mini is great for creative work and even some more advanced workloads like software development and video editing but... How about running Windows on it? Can the M2 Mac Mini be a good option for people wanting to "jump ship"? Or maybe even to have a Mac - as well as - a Windows PC? Let me know if you are considering the Mac Mini 👇🏼 Have a great day 🙏🏼

🙈CORRECTION: I stated HDMI 2.1 incorrectly.
M2 has HDMI 2.0 (this base Mac mini with 2 Thunderbolt ports)
M2 Pro has HDMI 2.1 (the Mac mini M2 pro chip and with 4 Thunderbolt ports)

I enjoy using my base model Mac M2 Pro mini. Parallels is really nice with Windows 11 and different Linux flavors.

The best review of the Mac Mini and trust me ive about watched them all. As an advanced hobbyist photographer ive been debating for weeks on which model to use. I only use lightroom and maybe have 3 web tabs open max at the same time. Currently using a 2013 imac with intel i5 and 8 gb ram. Seeing how this unit handled lightroom with 20 tabs open and other apps gave me the reassurance the base model will work for me. If i were a professional photographer and making money from my work than i can see validating the extra money for a better unit. Thanks again!

I work as a Graphic Designer and I am thinking about buying the Mac mini M2 base model. I use Adobe Illustrator and Lightroom most of the time, do you believe I will have some problems using this machine? Should I consider buying the 16GBs of RAM?

Thank you for this fantastic review, Alex! I currently use a 2017 MacBook Pro with 8GB RAM and a 128GB SSD. I'm an enthusiast photographer and a full-time data analyst learning new tools for my job, which requires Windows (for SSMS) and Lightroom for photo editing, along with a bit of Photoshop. I’m considering a setup with 16GB RAM, a 256GB internal SSD, and an external SSD. Would that be sufficient, or would you recommend something else? Also, could you confirm the time it takes to import raw photos in standard preview on LRC?

So 16GB of unified memory is definitely a must for me!!! I always just minimize apps and tabs lol

I've actually been considering this device even though I'm mainly a Windows user.
However my wife tell me that I don't want it at all, and she's always right according to what she tells me multiple times a day

Is the Mac mini base edition with 8gb ram good enough for Adobe apps like illustrator, indesign photoshop etc? Thanks

Honestly, the best m2 mini review on youtube rn. Thanks a lot Alex!
Quick question: I'm looking to get the base model for a friend and I'm on a tight budget. She's a student and does no heavy tasking, only daily web browsing, working with microsoft office apps to do uni assignments, etc. The only thing that worries me is the 8 GB ram but I even think considering your review it should be more than enough for her type of usage right? I'd love to know your opinion 🙏🏻

Hi! I don't know if you'll answer anymore, but I can only wish for the best! I want to get a new mac application to run logic pro x and sadly my macbook air (which is quite old.. is starting to suffer). This m2 mac mini, is it actually able to connect to a whole windows pc (I don't have any mac gadgets as my gaming computer), and if so, would it be possible to launch logic pro x, when m2 mac mini is connected to my PC?

I hope this question isn't too confusing, thank you!!

I am switching back to windows after years of only mac. I wanted to play some games lately MacOS is trash for that so my mac is dedicated to video editing since is a M1 Max with 64gb ram so its still a monster

something a lot of reviewers are missing when talking about export is the M2 Mac mini SSD is VERY slow compared to the M1 line...like 2-3x slower.

Alex - I am a electrical and computer engineer and do software development and simulations and sometimes need to run Windows for those apps not available on the Mac. I use a M2 MacBook Air with 512GB (and 8GB RAM) and it seems to work well when I need to use development or engineering tools only available for WIndows, if I’m only running Parallels / Windows 11 and not much else on my Mac. Since the M2 Mini is such a great value, I’m wondering which configuration of an M2 Mini might provide the price / performance value for the same kind of work, when I only need to be at my desktop. Can you compare the Windows 11 performance on the base M2 Mini to a M2 Mini Pro when running Parallels?

I am currently using 2019 MacBook Pro with Intel i9 2.3GHz 8 core, 32GB RAM and 1 TB SSD. I am not digital content creator and I am not doing any video editing. My work predominantly need multiple apps with multiple browsers run on the machine. Therefore the RAM utilisation usually range around 26GB to 28 GB.
With this current workload, I confuse which Mac mini M2 or M2 pro best suit for me?

1. Should I choose Mac mini M2 with 16GB RAM and 1 TB SSD? Or,
2. Should I choose Mac mini M2 with 24 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD? Or,
3. Should I choose Mac Mini M2 Pro (base CPU) with 16GB RAM and 1 TB SSD? Or,
4. Should I choose Mac Mini M2 Pro (base CPU) with 32GB RAM and 1 TB SSD?
