My advice to new investors: Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies. Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless. By doing this, I have managed to grow my portfolio to $500k.

For those that buy leaps and find themselves quite profitable months before expiration, what is the best (most profitable way) to roll them out to a longer expiration assuming you want to continue to hold a position? How do you determine what strike and expiration to roll to for maximum profit?
