Beam (Gen 2), two One SLs, and Sub Mini = the perfect setup for most people. Go for it. Only consider Arc if your room can sit more than 8 people comfortably.

So I was planning to purchase the Sonos Ray before watching this. Didn't realize it wasn't capable of atmos, and after watching this, now I know I definitely want dolby atmos, so thanks for making this point so clear!

This has really helped me decided between the Ray and Beam for my bedroom. Thanks for the advice!

Very helpful. One thing I just ran into was my old Sonos soundbar didn't use bluetooth and therefore I could not control it with my new Samsung remote which does not use IR. This forced me to either find a new IR remote, which I tried a couple of options, use 2 remotes or upgrade. It was great to hear that the Ray would not have solved my problem since it too is optical only. I went with the Beam after watching the video.

I bought the arc and returned it a week later...was underwhelmed. I absolutely love the Playbar with my two 5s and sub. In my condo...its perfect.

Thanks for your sharing. I just have one question. If I only focus on music, such as Violin & Piano. Is there much difference between Ray and Beam 2? Many thanks

Should I buy the arc or the beam? My living room is 13' 8" x 24' 6 1/5"

Thanks for your very informative review.
I'm curious to know though, whether a Sonos Beam Gen 2 can be connected to an Apple TV 4K in the same way that HomePods are connected - i.e. using AirPlay 2.
I have an older TV that does not allow Dolby Atmos to pass through from a HDMI input to my HDMI ARC port.
Therefore I need my Apple TV 4K to connect directly to my speakers using either AirPlay 2 or HDMI input (which the Sonos does not have).
I'd prefer to use Sonos if possible, so I can extend the system in the future by adding a sub and the new Era 300 rear Atmos speakers.
If this is possible, would latency be an issue?

So is it true that you cannot turn the Sonos arc off when not in use? It's always on?

Do you guys agree with what Sonos does to the Arc when you use their wall mount how it alters the sound?

Considering beam 2 + rear One SL surrounds + mini sub vs. the newer Nakamichi shockwafe pro 7.1.4 channel w/ 10" sub, 2 rears, eArc….I feel like Sonos has a way better app experience and I might upgrade to arc 2 when it comes out… 🤔 but Nakamichi would solve all my current issues for under $900…

And is there another way to tune the arc if you don't have a iphone?

It looks very much like you want to buy it.
