I watched this on my puny phone and there is definite discernible difference to the quality . The beam surprising sounds good as well but the sound stage is definitely narrower and more happening in front of you. With the Arc, sound is more spread out and nuanced. Some parts seems thin and lack oh Omph but we may be missing some details in the up firing speakers and placement when it sounded thinner

This review is a game changer for me to know that there is indeed quite discernible quality difference placing both samples side to side

Loving the videos! Got a question. Would you recommend buying the Arc and investing in the play ones at a later date or buying the Beam and play ones straight away and maybe investing the subwoofer later on? Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the video. Im looking into getting Sonos, but I can get the old Playbar and the old Sub for the same price as the new arc on its own. Is the arc really worth it? I can buy the arc now, but then I will only be able to buy the sub at a later stage. I'm not sure if I must future proof myself or get the bass right away with the older speaker. Is the playbar better then the beam? I suppose it is. Love your videos. Keep up the great work.

Great clear and concise video. I have the Beam with rear speakers but considering the Arc. Is it really going to make much of a difference if all I do is stream from Netflix, Hulu, Amazon etc. I know most programs on streaming platforms don’t utilize Atmos so I’m wondering if it’s overkill for me. I currently have the Beam+Sub+Ones setup for surround sound. Because of our entertainment center, the beam sits on top of the tv. I’m thinking on upgrading to Arc, but I don’t know if it’s worth the upgrade. How would the Arc sound if I have to put it above the TV?

I was waiting for your review, I still can’t believe that the Arc is that good, I guess I’ll have to try it myself, some reviewers have compared it to the Nakamichi 7.1 system and are claiming Arc is better, a real 5.1, 7.2... setup worse than a soundbar?, I’ll wait to try it

Think better to add the Sub instead of changing beam (bought 2 weeks ago) to Arc ? My TV is LG OLED TV 55'' EG920T (4 yrs old). Also bought 2 Sonos One SL for surround sound 2 days after I setup the beam lol

Hi peter I just recently purchased a Sonos beam and I noticed that I did not have a HDMI(ARC) on my tv, I have regular HDMIs but not ARC, I attempted to use the Adapter that it comes in the box but my tv does not support that option neither, is there an adapter that I can purchase or what can I do, thanks!!

Great work as always Peter, thank you and I hope that your voice is getting better. I am currently considering buying a Sonos Arc and Sub for our main TV room/ lounge. However I am a little concerned about the size of the room and vaulted ceiling’s. The room is approx. 38m2 and at its highest point 4 meters . Do you think that the arc is powerful enough to fill a space like this? Thanks again for sharing the great content!

Peter Pee, thank you for the video. I currently have Beam + 2x Ones for surround. My plan is to get the new sub at some point. Would you recommend upgrading the Beam to Arc as well or in real scenario that would not make a huge difference?
I used headphones when watching your video, but it was a bit difficult to notice the difference myself :(.
