Heel Lock Lacing Technique | Kintec: Footwear + Orthotics

Have you ever thought about different ways to lace up your shoes? Most people haven’t. We conform to the standard way that manufacturers pre-lace the shoe for us when we open up the shoe box. While this serves most people well most of the time, there are times where maybe lacing up a shoe differently would improve the fit and comfort; rather than feeling frustrated that the shoes don’t fit.

Learn how to tie a heel lace lock to prevent your heel from slipping in your shoe!

I just have wide feet but the more popular brands of shoes don't carry wides so this will help me with my foot sliding out the back

When I bought my first pair of running shoes, many years ago, I learned what that extra hole was for. Now I lace all my running shoes that way.

I love this.
Im 38 years old.
Was in the military for 4 years.
Never in my life seen this, let alone taught this.
I wasn't a runner or anything in hs either so maybe thats why.
Either way, it sucks a lot of manufacturers are eliminating this 2nd hole.
Also, most dont have tongues and have sock like fitting style and I hate those.

They're great if they fit you, but if you don't have a narrow skinny foot they suck.
Anyway, just picked up some Guide 15's and just got them today actually.
I hope they hold up well, never felt an upper in this type of material. Reminds me slightly of a windbreaker/running shorts mix type of material. Very strange.
Nonetheless, its super light.
They make em in wide sizes. Although I never ran in Saucony's in a long time, n idk if I need wide with these.
I got 11 and 11.5's and the 11.5's fit a tiny big, the 11's a tiny small. So 11.5 it is.
Anyway, these things have a sole that seems to be thicker than the boost shoes for sure.
Idk I haven't picked up a legit pair of running shoes in a min and they are light years ahead of where theyrl were.

i think you don't need the extra hole. you can put the lace in to the same hole to create the loop.

When he says outside to the inside then inside the outside, what he means is inside to the outside on both.

I'll give it a shot. I'm lazy when it comes to shoe laces. I like to leave them tied all the time and slip the shoe off and on without disturbing the shoe lace. Is this a no no?

maybe perform the technique on a table next time. you could barely hang on to the shoe and it is very distracting.
