I know you have probably heard this from others but my brother had half his tongue removed for cancer, good margins, no chemo or radiation and 25 years later he is going strong, hope that you have the same experince he did

The other thing I should tell you is this, my sis had a lung scan and the P.A. told her she had calcium deposits on her lungs with no follow up. 10 months later she was in the hospital with pneumonia and they said she had lung cancer. Told her she had a few months left to live. Good news is she did live for 4 years. I understand your trust issues because I have them with health care people now. 😢

Wow, that is wonderful news! I work in the Cancer field and that is an awesome prognosis!! Technically Cancer free!! When they look in the Lymph nodes they are looking to see if any cancer cells are in them as that will tell them if you have floating cancer cells in your body. If you did then Chemo would be recommended to do what they call systemic treatment. They caught it in time!! Being your own advocate like you said is the best for anyone. Awesome news!!

I would get all the specific information i could on the kind of tumor you had and read up absolutely everything i could on it... Likelihood of recurrence, what you can do to increase your chances of being cancer free, anything at all! Knowledge is power!

I, like you had clean margins and negative lymph nodes. I totally understand your anxiety but I have found that living one day at a time is what it is all about. I am now 7 years out and have accepted that I was never promised a day and am thankful for each and every day. I often wonder why I am blessed but totally believe that many people were praying for me that it had a great effect. Before surgery they were prepping me for radiation and chemotherapy. When my results came back they just wanted to follow me. I have had small sensations and tingling that has been ongoing but no reoccurrence. I hope and pray that you are blessed and lucky as I am. Yay!!! I am so happy for you. This is wonderful news and I’m happy you fought to get the correct treatment. Medical gaslighting of young afflicted humans with serious medical issues is causing people to miss crucial diagnoses and it’s terrible.
