I have both and for me they are a bit different: the OCD is a Marshall-in-a-box type of pedal and the Flux Drive is a Tubescreamer on steroids (even though it isn't advertised as such). They're both quite flexible so you can dial them similarly like in this video. But the OCD can take you to tones the Mesa can't and vice-versa.

OK I feel better, I bought a Fillmore 50 and love the toneal flexibility. In the back of my mind, I keep thinking that I could’ve just spent a fraction on a pedal and gotten the same thing. It’s just really different. It really is more like the black face of my dreams. Great playing!!!

Awesome playing! I think both pedals are pretty close, but the Mesa seems to be a bit smoother to my ears. The OCD seems just a bit hardsher to me, but the difference is minimal.

Agree with previous. OCD sounds harsh and ice picky.
Mesa had more amp like organic drive I think.

Cool playing bro! Sad that this beautiful style of playing is compromised to shredding on bass strings or playing 3 notes with a whole bunch of delays these days!

To me, on the low drive settings the OCD sounds more transparent and doesn't color as much as the Mesa does, which quickly gets a bit squishy. On the neck pup the OCD had a superior strat tone.

On the high gain settings, especially with the bridge humbucker, the Mesa started to shine while the OCD became too glassy for my taste...

Hard choice, it's like a LP vs a Strat, they're both good for different stuff.



As always, the conclusion must be to get both. Hah!

By that way you play and with that amount of gain, I'd say it's impossible to find a bad sounding pedal.
