Показать описание
This video discusses how proteins in the muscle are degraded into amino acids during starvation in order to provide more building blocks for gluconeogenesis. The two systems discussed are the ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS) and the lysosomal autophagic pathways (macroautophagy, chaperone-mediated autophagy and microautophagy). The components of each system as well as the steps involved in breakdown of the target protein into amino acids is explained for each system.
