5 Tips to Boost Your Metabolism

Do you want to know how to boost your metabolism for fat loss?
Your Thyroid is largely responsible for your Metabolic rate, so all of these tips will help thyroid function and your metabolism

Eat more protein - Increased protein promotes optimal thyroid signaling and your thyroid is largely responsible for your Metabolic rate. You're very likely not eating enough of this. A 5’4” should have about 120g/protein per day and a 5’9” male should have about 155g/day. Most people are getting about half that.

Alcohol directly and indirectly suppresses thyroid function so it would be wise to stop drinking

Eat more foods with the amino acid tyrosine in them, like beef and raw dairy

Also, eat more glycine-containing foods like bone grass-fed beef bone broth or gelatin.

Both of those amino acids are very important for optimal thyroid function

Stop eating polyunsaturated fatty acids. These will down-regulate thyroid function, slow your metabolism, and make you fat. So cut the ultra-processed foods and commercial salad dressings

And give me a follow if you want some helpful fat loss tips.

Exercise boosts metabolism more than these things he said. Building muscle and doing cardio regularly is my tip

One thing I noticed after years of compling medical summaries as a nurse paralegal is that without exception, people (usually perimenopausal women) who have been diagnosed with thyroid issues also were VERY deficient in Vit B-12 and Vit D.

Iodine is also very important for thyroid function. Milk and eggs are a good source of iodine. I also take a sea kelp extract supplement occasionally.

Not all polyunsaturated fats are bad for you 😊 There are polyunsaturated fatty acids that are essential for your cell function (omega-3-fatty acids) and they help regulate triglycerides and cholesterol in your blood stream, which lowers the risk for cardiovascular disease 😉

the protein amount you recommend is for muscle growth not just for the average person for maintenance

Stop spreading misinformation so much. A 75kg 5'9 male needs around 60-80g of protein for normal thyroid function, not 150g. While that amount of protein would be great for you, and necessary if you are weight lifting, it only increases thyroid function by a small margin. You've deliberately used a misleading fact to make the average person believe that 150g of protein is necessary for normal thyroid function, when that isn't the case unless you're working out (which they should be regardless tbf) in which case it will increase the level of muscle you gain and speed up muscle recovery time.

How about carbohydrates, low carbs can down regulate thyroid function

It's actually quite the opposite. Yes, drinking ice water does burn calories in the short term, as the body struggles to return to homeostasis. However, over the long term, drinking very cold water creates imbalances that can ultimately result in weight gain. You see according to Ayurveda, Consuming ice water dampens the digestive fire, or agni. Agni’s job is to process everything you take in through the senses—and that includes food and beverages. Typically, the body has a base temperature of 98.6 degrees. When you toss back a glass of ice water with a temperature of 33 degrees, the energy expenditure required to kick the heat back up to 98.6 is substantial. Consuming ice water is similar to tossing water on a camp fire: Damp smoke is released and the fire dies down. The smoke can be an analogy for poorly digested and assimilated food. With the fire damped down, what we consume can become toxins that clog up our channels and make us feel subpar.
Hot water increases the digestive fire (like increases like), resulting in a better breakdown and assimilation of everything we consume. Strong, supported agni will prevent food from being stored as fat, toxins, or fermented gaseousness in the gut. So have hot, warm or room temp water for better effect.

BTW i got this from a different video that shows how to speed up metabolism so just letting y’all know.

Yeah buddy, 5’8 female here, always north of 200g protein from meat a day. It does good things 😁

Good sources of protein? (I’m a vegetarian so no meat 😅)

As a 5'3 woman, should I just stick to the 120 grams of protein since I'm not far from 5'4?

Lol These measurements are nuts. An average height female needs 100g of protein while an average man needs 155. Ok but at what weight? Also that's way too much protein for a skinny person no matter the gender or height.

Idoine an essential for the entire endocrine system. Fluoride and Chloride (might be another cant remember off the top) inhibit good iodine absorption. Just about everyone is severely deficient

Is bone broth or gelatin same as bovine collagen powder?
