I saw these two for the first time as full body props at a Spirit Halloween store and I did NOT WANT TO GO NEAR THEM. They were freaky as hell, and to think I grew out of my phase of being scared of Halloween masks and skeletons; these guys top the cake. Almost felt the urge to cry, I probably would’ve if I was by myself. Cool designs but disturbing..I can’t look away either lmao.

My friend Eddie sculpted the first transformation, the one of Adam Maitland. Back in high school. He was a child prodigy in special effects at the time. We went to a Catholic high school in the L.A. area, and prior to this, when he worked on the original Predator, the school would not grant him permission to take weeks off to travel to South America to be on set. So, while many of us had after-school jobs at stores and whatnot, he had jobs at effects studios sculpting for the movies. He is still in effects and owns his own company, but most of it is done via CGI.

This scene scared me SO BAD when I caught it on TV as a kid. I could still tell it was meant to be kind of goofy, though. Now I love it.

I remember seeing this part when my mom was watching Beetlejuice on TV in the early 90s. It made me really want to see the whole film. Back then I thought they were transforming into dinosaurs

The fact that Barbras skin didn't tear is amazing...also they horrified me as a child, that and I thought it was pretty cool.

I saw this scene when I was little by chance on a TV when I was shopping with my dad. It was displayed on the display TVs they had for sale or something. It freaked me out pretty bad, and to this day, that memory is as vivid as ever. I do remember the scene being less goofy, and the effects being different, but maybe that was just the way the TV's displayed it, mixed with the fuzziness of childhood memories. Now, as a horror enthusiast, and having just watched the movie for the first time, it's honestly so cool revisiting this scene and actually seeing how goofy it is
