New extended footage of Beetlejuice 2 from CinemaCon gives more context to how Michael Keaton's character returns, including a confirmation of which character summons him with the dreaded three-word phrase. While teasing their upcoming slate of movies in 2024 and early 2025, Warner Bros. released extended footage of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice at CinemaCon, with the Tim Burton sequel scheduled to premiere in theaters on September 6, 2024. Though much of the footage was similar to what was included in the first trailer, it included a few shocking new details about the new and returning Beetlejuice 2 characters' interactions with Michael Keaton's titular poltergeist.

The first teaser trailer for Tim Burton's Beetlejuice Beetlejuice revealed the Deetz family reuniting in Winter River after the death of Jeffrey Jones' Charles Deetz, which concluded with a shot of Beetlejuice being summoned in front of a shocked Lydia. At the time, it wasn't clear who had actually repeated Beetlejuice's name three times before he rose from the town model in the attic, with the reason for calling him still remaining a mystery. However, the new footage finally reveals the iconic character who summons him in Beetlejuice 2, which comes as a huge surprise after the events of the 1988 original movie.

What consequences? It was never really made clear in the original movie and Lydia and everyone's reaction to Beetlejuice was simply unfair. Lydia broke her deal with him, even though he had kept his promise she betrayed him. So Lydia was actually the bad guy in the original movie. What would have been so bad about her marrying him anyway? He just wanted that so that he could leave the house, that he for some reason was trapped at because of the miniature model. SO you know... just allow him to leave? I mean, it wasn't as if he was the only ghost...

i hope they make beetlejuice an anti-hero like in the animated series, since he was a villain in the original. since adam and barbara won't be in the sequel, maybe their fate would be that they got tired of living on earth that they would rather live in the afterlife for good.

People debating if this is fan made...it is. They spliced footage of the REAL teaser trailer with old movie footage. Hell, theres a moment where "Beetlegeuse talks" and its clearly dubbed over a scene from the old movie, like it doesn't even match remotely lolm
