I have both, the SSK003 and the green Prospex GMT SPB381. Love them both! The MM200 GMT is better in mostly every regard, especially the case finishing, but I love them both equally. Can’t go wrong with either, especially if you can get the Prospex under $1, 300. Totally agree though that the lume is better on the Seiko 5 lol

I own Seiko 5 gmt I the same colours 😉. It is my favourite watch. Very comfortable and just practical. Great video 👍.

Good review but not sure if this is even a comparison lol. I mean its like comparing a Porsche 911 and Boxster. Yeah they are both Porches but that's where it stops. Here they are both GMT but that's where it stops.

I sold my Seiko Five gmt because I hated that basil. It looks so cheap. I went ahead and bought prospex GMT in the black and the green. I love them both.

The SPB383 is absolutely fantastic in the flesh. You guys gotta go and see it.
I was not even considering this watch, I went to the AD to see the new SPB48X series with the weird octagonal bezel and the also kinda new SPB45X -- the 62MAS reissue. I always knew about the MarineMaster series, and while I love the case (from videos and pictures), I always thought about the marinemasters as huge and heavy and uncomfortable to wear for non-arnold types of humans. That's not the case. It wears very comfortable and is well balanced due to the big clasp.
This is a point which a lot of people miss -- you can wear a well balanced watch on a bracelet a lot looser than an unbalanced one, an ubalanced one tends to try to travel around your wrist a lot more than a well balanced one. And also, it's absolutely the most beautiful watch that I've seen so far. I thought that I would go and buy a Longines Legend Diver as my anniversary watch (as it was so far the nicest one I had on my wrist), but the LLD did not do this to me, I simply want this SPB383 and I cannot shake it off.

I find it very hard to track time on the 1968 GMT, because the minute markers of the diver bezel draw attention away from the inner numbers in small font for the GMT hand. The Seiko 5 is a classic-looking GMT --- in fact, it would be my unambiguous pick if the bezel weren't friction-fit (`slippery' used in the review is exactly my complaint). I would take hardlex and so on to keep it affordable, but this is subjective.

Prefer the 5, the Prospex reminds me of an Ali Express watch. But that's just my opinion. Great video, thanks.

You should have compared with Prospex gmt green colour looks much bettter to the cheap Seiko 5

Seiko 5 gmt is good really good but the clasp is cheap as hell I own the black limited edition but I really hate the clasp

Seiko 5 looks awkward. Designed to suck in the smaller wristed buyers. Any 6ish inch buyers regret their purchase of this shorter L to L watch?
