It is a myth, Palki. The gender paygap has been debunked plenty of times. You earn according to your skill or the work you do. Not because you're a man or a woman. There are many factors that determine salary, not only gender.

Does every Carpenter gets same salary, every electrician gets same salary, and work outcome quality has no impact on salary ? If someone is doing better job then they deserve a better pay, & less than others if quality is poor, irrespective of men or women.

Equal work is a myth. There's no reason to receive different pay if both work equally. If corporations can pay women less for doing the same amount of work as men, then they employ women instead of men.

Men are physically stronger, deny that. It matters even in office work. Our company moved to a new office location. The men did all the moving. The women didn't lift a finger. How could they help anyway? They wear fashion clothes and high heeled shoes. Their fingernails are painted and too long for hard work.

As an Indian businessman, I simply don't understand this pay gap issue. I hire people based on skill and the salary they expect. If women are willing to do the same work of equivalent or better quality than their male counterparts for a lower salary, I'll simply only hire females. My primary concern is profit. And this is the industry wide sentiment.

I agree females might face discrimination on other grounds but pay gap doesn't seem one of them to me.

What about disparity in pay even amongst the men themselves ?
I have two young delivery boys and I pay them differently, commensurate with their skill and delivery for the same job.

Could you please make a short video on how this gender pay gap is calculated? If you base your calculations and factor in "equal work" just on the basis of "designation" and parade that as proof of the gender pay gap, i feel sorry for you. Men generally work longer hours than women. I have experienced it in my life and I'm sure all the men who are afraid to speak out have also felt. Men toil away even at night, women go home early. Of course it's not always true but generally this the case. I'd rather policies regarding this be based on facts than propaganda to make women get more money.

Truck drivers make $100k easy starting out. How many women drive trucks?
Oil riggers can make 250k in 6 months. How many female oil riggers?
Plumbers, welders? Also 6 figure salaries... where are the women?

Women do household chores? They also spend the most money in the household.
And the single male truck driver is doing his own household chores.
But who puts gas in the car, pumps the tires, washes the car, fixes the toilet? Unpaid labor that men do.
Who protects the house? Unpaid security.
