✅The Ultimate Home Building Checklist✅

Dog gates that are built into the wall are sold online for $1000-$1500. This homeowner saved a bunch of money by creating and building it himself into his current home build while they were still in the framing process.

Someone needs to tell him dog gates don’t cost near that much.

I like how it dips when fully extended. The sign of true craftsmanship.

We bought an IKEA one, took about 10 minutes to install and cost 20 USD.

Shoutout to the guy who tried to charge him $1000

Should have made it longer so it would have more strength when fully extended, you can see it's flimsy once opened. Not much metal left in the PVC tubes once the gate is opened.

Imagine buying the house years later and one day figuring out there's been a gate built in to a door frame the whole time

Longer poles or tighter fit would prevent that sag at full extension.

And unfortunately the dog’s a jumper clears it by 3 inches 😂

Saved 1k on what???? Honestly, you probably spent more in materials and labor than a dog gate costs.

I'd make it with vertical rods instead of horizontal because dogs can climb and so can tiny humans. And it put it on easy close hardware. Very cool to have one build in though! I like it!

A brace/notch, on the free hanging side, for the end to slide into would fix the sagging and add a lot reinforcement.

This is the best it will ever look and perform, and seemingly no easy way to fix it once everything is complete

needs a roller on the end keep it from sagging a little wheel with a spring would be awesome 👍

If possible, make pipe and the pins longer, that way it sags less in the closed position. The amount of sag lets it look like it won't hold a lot of force.

It's the beginning of a great idea. With a little tweaking it would be great

I've been in the wrong business all along... 1k for a dog gate? 😂😂😂

If you’re paying $1k for a freakin’ dog gate, someone need to build you a head-shaker.

Perfect, now once the doorframe goes in no one will ever know it's there.

That was definitely more expensive than a movable standard gate (that you can put in any doorframe) 😂
