Some people watch horror movies, i watch this and it makes me quiver in fear far more effectively.

my aunt died to this disease. she told me she was having trouble seeing and no one could figure it out because initially the MRI was normal. It was not until she started jerking and they saw ribboning in the brain that they said it was CJD.

horrible disease and a very cruel ending. she died within a year and there is no cure.

Does anyone know whether the spinal fluid if handled incorrectly can transmit this disease to, lets say, a nurse?

Why is there no treatment or cure? Or is it because it's a rare disease or not enough research and trails have been done?

I recently srarted reading about it. Just one of the most frightening pathologies out there...

But seeing the comments of ppl with some relatives suffering from it, I wonder if this statistic of 1 or 2 in isn't a stretch? It looks like is more common, just sadly not enough data on it. Any thoughts?

Does it manifest in ten Blood? Are there any alterations lilke linfocites or anemia?

I've been having rapidly progressing neurological symptoms for over 2 months and had extensive neurological and endocrinological checkups which all came back negative. Im still functioning but lost a fair bit of my abilities in that short time. Sadly I think under these circumstances the disease isn't a 1 in chance for me anymore.

I think it's a simbiotoc disease and if the other portion of it isndestrpyed it deactivates the protein portion
