How to polish paint for beginners!

I love that you mention not to swing the polisher around and rush the work. I used to have a boss, who's only validation was. "I've been doing this for 30 years". He always tried to teach me the wrong way by saying that I was being too slow polishing the paint. He basically wanted me to rush the job. And work around the panel and rush using the polisher. When I tried to tell him what your teaching in your videos is the correct way... He yelled at me and said I suck at my job.

One thing that not metioned often is, when poishing always hold the buffer close to your body so you have leverage over the machine and it does not have leverage over you. If you polish with your arms extended you will run out of steam pretty fast as it will feel heavier to hold..

I do a lot of automotive painting and had to teach myself to buff/ polish. Because I paint, overlapping passes made sense. And I could see the difference speed made in your results. I use a rotary a lot so I do move a bit faster on that. But on the random orbit I can slow down and let it do it's thing.

First you need to protect rubber strips or in some cases plastic ones at the bottom and upper side of the windows by ductaping them to avoid damaging them.

I want to get a polisher. I am somewhat new to machine polishing but I have had success polishing with my drill which is essentially a rotary so should I just buy a rotary? I've been looking at the Milwaukee cordless one, do you know if that's any good?
