Focusing his anger on Mustafar, Darth Vader strikes down Obi-Wan Kenobi. Rushing to Padme, his only thoughts are to see her safely through childbirth. The new Emperor meets Vader on Coruscant, and the Chosen One proceeds with his plans to depose Sidious. In a devastating clash of lightning and lightsabers, Anakin’s unleashed rage and newfound mastery of the Force overwhelm Sidious. But Anakin’s heart softens the moment he cradles his newborn children, Luke and Leia. A shred of his former self emerges, and he realizes he must make amends for the horrors he caused. Padme, seeing his rejection of the dark side, recognizes that together they can bring peace and justice to the galaxy by dismantling Darth Sidious’ schemes and reforming the Republic. Anakin’s charisma and status as a war hero win over the galactic citizens, and he enlists Yoda and Ahsoka Tano to aid in the Jedi Order’s reconstruction. Over time, the Republic would heal, and Anakin’s children grow up in a galaxy filled with hope and opportunity.

More than likely, had anakin realized what he had done and even if he killed Palpatine? That dude is at minimum going to jail for life if not executed for mass murder

Padme died in childbirth. That was the whole point to anakin becoming a sith, so he could learn the technique to bring back the dead. Also, the fact that by this point order 66 was already in full swing means that the chosen one would still be fighting against the entire clone army. Sidious, being the sith master that he is, would have sensed the change in allegiance, therefore, with obiwan and padme dead, plus all the atrocities he committed, it would make the most sense that the story would basically be the same, just with him in obi wans position and the grande inquisitor possibly being the darth vader of the story. Luke and leia would still be separated for their protection, anakin would be an exile in hiding, but he would possibly become insanely powerful, because he’d have ample motivation to kill sidious, unlike obi wan, who was the one that told the jedi to go into hiding and appointed himself to the lifelong task of watching over luke and leia.

I seriously doubt any surviving Jedi would welcome Anakin back into the fold. More likely they'd lynch him.

The dark side isnt all 'evil death destruction!', its the wielding of the force for personal power. Love, lust, greed, etc.

Theres a reason why the Jedi Order did not allow romance, because the Jedi order rejected the indulgence of those feelings and emotions. Embracing the force for personal progression good or evil, vs embracing the force for the use other than the self.

Padme would not forgive anakin so easily especially since in his anger he attempted to kill her. The first chance she gets she will try and run away with the twins.

Yeah. Tbh, I think that Anakin killing Sidious wouldn't undo all the damage that he had done to dismantle the Jedi Order, let alone make Ahsoka and Yoda forget that Anakin not only killed Sidious, but Obi-wan, Mace Windu, Shaak Ti, and the other Jedi Masters, Padawans and younglings at the Temple. Padme, Ashoka and Yoda justbeing cool with him slaughtering younglings and killing Obi-Wan. That's not how the dark side of the Force works!
