I swear someone stubs their toe and they’re gonna outlaw corners.

They also could've doubled due to rising popularity and more people getting them.

Injuries are up by a small percentage but fun is up by thousands and thousands of percent! Get out there and have fun! Quit your bitching!

Injuries are rising because more people are using them. Because cars are too expensive. And the infrastructure is only designed for cars, leaving people with no choice but to endanger themselves to get to work. Requiring a permit does NOTHING to solve the infrastructure safety problem. All it does is make poor people have to go through more steps in order to have a proper vehicle. Which is classism. The entire reason a lot of people use these things is to avoid that shit. Requiring a permit acts as if the scooter riders are harming each other by crashing into each other, or crashing into a wall or something, but in reality most of those injuries come from car collisions at crosswalks, and to be more specific, right turns on red.

Won't be long before you need a permit to be outside, for "safety" purposes 😂

The real question is the per capita injuries. It's silly how the nanny state wants to save you from yourself.

I love how getting a permit automatically makes people ride more safe.

Personal e-bike responsibility, when the DA's let violent criminals run bond free... 🥴

soon it will required by law to wear a helmet for walking.

Of course injuries doubled. There 20x more bikes sold yearly so it actually isn’t that significant of a rise in injury for the a pint of e-bikes being sold

Ride your unregistered bike and park a block away from the school. Even if they find out, what are they going to do? It's not on school property.

They're just trying to make money off of permits. That's your people what the hell permit gonna do but put money in their pocket. You guys need to go to the board meeting and tell these clowns.

"E-Bike injuries doubled nationally" also E-Bike usage and ownership likely doubled nationally.
There is no actual net change here. They're just as safe or unsafe as they have always been.

Here comes the regulation and forced licensing and insurance of course to make everything unaffordable and of course provide revenue for government agencies and insurance companies

These laws are no diferent than a overly protective mother burying her kids in a hole for safety,

If you really care for your own people, you should set them free

Looking at government, "power" obviously doesn't come with responsibility.... 🤪

A school should not be able to require students to register holy crap

Just another way to get more money out of people actually trying to get to school or work

Aaahhh yes, permits prevent accidents. More permits and money to California. Makes sense
