I bought two cheap guitars from wish they are brandless/serial-less needed a good setup and some fret leveling but all-in-all not bad for the price. One was broken and not playable out the box but a bit of doctoring I was able to get it playable again.

I have that yellow guitar, but in white. Got some Black Winter pickups and honestly I love it more than my Ibanez now.

they sounds SICK or a cheap guitar. I might get me one instead of getting one from the guitar center and spending 100's of dollars.

Do they seem like they would be worth changing to better pickups and extending the life?

So, I know "buyer beware" is the maxim in the extreme with anything related to Wish. Therefore, there are absolutely ZERO expectations of greatness out of the guitar whatsoever, and even only so much expectation of "just okayness", but I JUST bought one of the yellow ones, with the smaller, weirder shaped body (I even bought it in yellow, funnily enough). I just ordered it yesterday or the day before, though, so it will probably be at least a couple weeks before I actually have it arrive, and can actually experience it for myself.

I play so seldomly, and am so limited in my playing ability, and already have way more gear than someone at the delta of my skill level and use level and income level should ever reasonably have - ranging from a late aughts US Gibson Les Paul Studio and late 90's Japanese Yamaha TRB 5-II F fretless bass on the high end to a super cheap $140 Firefly semi-hollow ES335 clone that I got in 2019 on the low end - which I actually was much happier than expected with! Therefore, I simply couldn't currently justify going out and buying even a mid-tier $400 Ibanez RG450, though I have LONG wanted one.

So when this guitar from Wish popped up in an ad slot one day for $60, and when I noticed it was HSH, with 25.5" scale, 24 fret, flat fretboard, thin, fast neck, and 5-way selector switch (no Floyd Rose, but at least a basic trem system), I realized that the thing was basically other than for the body shape and tone wood selection essentially just a "poor-man's RG clone", checking all the same configuration checkboxes that I had wanted, and so I decided that it was worth chancing $60 over to have something that at least roughly approximated such a guitar - especially when it's such a cool looking thing that it would at least make for a decent decoration should it be just too crappy to really use.

The thing is, I'm not a big hard rock / heavy guy, and only fairweather about more straight-ahead rock. The thing that so captured my imagination about the RG was it's applications in and aptitude for jazz fusion from the 80's and 90's, particularly out of Japan, something that can be jangly and bright and effervescent like a Stratocaster when you want it to be, and either thick, and blazing and/or rich and warm and jazzy like a Les Paul when you want it to be - all in one guitar! I realize that the form factor (even on an actual RG) would be different enough that the humbucker tone would not be the same "singsong fire milk" as a Les....but close enough. :-)

That was the allure of the RG for me, and if this thing manages to approximate that even cheaply, and comes with no major defects, then it will have been worth the money for me, and maybe, if it rekindles my dormant / stunted playing, then perhaps it will make it easier, rather than harder to justify getting a real Ibanez RG later on down the road.

Does anyone have any idea how well this guitar would do at jazz fusion? Here are some links to the kind of sounds I'm after. I realize that the first two are using the Ibanez S series instead of the RG, but the sound is essentially a match, and I speculate that the fourth one, the Casiopia track is probably using more of a Les-style guitar, and yes, the third one is from a video game. But collectively, they showcase the kind of sound I'd be after with an RG - and buy extension, with this guitar:

Does anyone know how well this guitar would play in these kinds of territories? My guess is that it will be something to the effect of "in the ways that a $100 Strat sounds nothing like a $1000 Strat, no, but in the ways that a $100 Strat sounds exactly like a $1000 strat, sure!" And for the price, that's an answer I would be okay with! :-)

I'm a little disappointed that this video didn't explore jazzier applications with it. Still, it sounds good enough at the heavy - given the right effects and post processing that it makes me hopeful. I guess we'll find out soon enough! :-)

Thanks for uploading!

Cheers!

p.s. at the time I ordered the weirder looking one, I didn't realize they also had the one that more closely matched the actual RG look. And while I'm not going to change or cancel or supplement my existing order, it creates a real "mixed feelings" situation for me. On the one hand, I kinda prefer the quirky look of the weirder one. It certainly stands out more! But on the other, if this is meant to be sort of a surrogate "stand-in" for the RG450 that I couldn't justify, then how much sweeter it'd have been to be able to approximate the look as well - especially if I wanted to mess with a custom pickguard to make it look even more the part. Oh well. :-)

Yeah... My wish.com guitar I got for granddaughter had similar issues. Neck had gobs of paint were the neck bolted on and was out of line i had to file and sand it so it was right...and mine had extra chunk of wood! They sanded the neck to make it fit instead of removing the chunk from the body... The claw screws were so out of line they penetrated the pickup cavity.. The nut was off line and had chunks of plastic that needed to be filed... The string slots were too tight and needed to be filed because they pinched the strings tight. The claw springs were screwed all the way in... And the bridge was out of wack... Pick guard wasn't trimmed right... Then was are the Tuners yeah that's just a whole other story. But..lets say if you tighten the screws a little through the finger grip you can tighten them up a little. All that and more BUT! Here is the truth. I knew what I might be getting myself into. I have the skill and Luthier tools to rework factory flaws and shortcuts. It plays soooo well now.. All I still may do is get the mexican squire wired pickup set from Stewart MacDonald for 51$ for her later this year. Im not unhappy. I am very pleased with what this instrument is. It shreds now with an intense setup that took hours... Sanding and oiling neck... Fret dressing.... And all the rest... It was a labor of love for my Granddaughter for Christmas. And they left the headstock blank so I could paint a giant A for Autumn on it! I have 5 other guitars Schecter C1... RGA72.. LPC. And a Gretsch G5422TG. And I mush say... The 88$ Wish.com guitar plays and plays well. (after lots of work lol)

Thanks im new to your channel.
Ty.
